Reviving thread: ironically the only time I was mocked was running in my 2” Nike running shorts by a teen boy right in front of his family in NC…but never mocked in my Speedo. Many times at beach or hotel I’ll start out being the only one with courage to sport my brief…. Sometime later in the day another guy or 2 will gain the courage to strip down to their brief. I think there are more guys just looking for an excuse to wear their Speedo. We’ve got to keep normalizing them. Brief is so superior to baggy wear.

Agree 100%. Some guys just need a little sign of “approval”. Many more positive experiences than negative over the years. Great conversation starter at resorts poolside. I know I’ve changed many opinions, both guys and gals, to the positive. Comfort and confidence. Swim briefs rule

I’ve definitely had more conversations beginning in public (hotels, resorts or beaches) while wearing a speedo than in swim shorts. These have been totally normal conversations with normal people (not about what I’m wearing, not creepy, etc)

Same here, Speedoguy1971. Down-home, normal folks will strike up conversations effortlessly. Funny I didn't realize it has happened much more often when I've been in minimal trunks than when I wore shorts. Interesting...

I think our speedo trunks convey confidence, freedom and fun to other people men and women straight or not. So many deeply wish to have the confidence to wear their own brief.
