comparing lower market swim breifs
I was shopping for swimwear on amazon yesterday and noticed they have a lot of lower-end brands with interesting cuts and good prices: Easy Juicy, Brave Person, Mizok just to name a few. Has anybody tried to document or do a comparison of lower-end swim briefs? I've got a couple of Sporti suits, and a Desmiit suit. The sportis have actually held up pretty well throughout the years. The material is clearly cheaper than what you get in a speedo, and they compress a lot more, and take longer to dry, but they are definately durable. The Desmiit suit dries faster, but doesn't seem to be cut/to fit how I expected (perhaps I needed to size up?). The sporties I bought for less than $10 (on sale) and I think the Desmiit suit was only $12. Not bad! Has anyone else tried these cheeper off brand suits? Have any recommendations?
My amazon surfing the other day resulted in the purchase of a Gary Majdell suit. I'll report back once I receive it!

I've got a Desmit and a couple of Brave person. th eBrave Person material is extremely comfortable, and light. Plenty of room up front. I haven't worn them in public yet. The desmit is is a bit heavier material. I like the fit of both, but would prefer a little less coverage on the rear, more like Speedo Solar. I would buy more for sure.
Re: comparing lower market swim breifs
I have some with the logo "anchor hero" and they are actually my favourite of all.
The fabric doesn't last well compared to the Speedo brand, but it is good enough for the price.
Need the liner cut out otherwise they smash balls too hard. So we are talking about quite a statement low cut swimsuit. I wear every weekend in Australia without issues but in USA might be too much where even 8cm sides Speedos seem to get negativity.

A few questions for you Dan.ChicagoDan wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 8:29 pmI've got a Desmit and a couple of Brave person. th eBrave Person material is extremely comfortable, and light. First, can I presume your referring to briefs and not thongs?
I’ve had the old version of the Speedo Solar and the current one. And to hear you say the Speedo has less coverage is a new one. The current “Solar” is the most conservative suit I own. I go smaller with the Sporti Euro and my smallest is a Gary Majdell “Ultra Greek”.
I’ve heard of Brave Person but only for underwear, can you share a link to the swimsuit you’re referring to?
I have a Desmitt suit but it’s a thong and I use it for lap swim and it’s great. Again if your referring to a brief, could you provide a link please.
Thanks for then comparison and hopefully some good “links”.

Sportis last a good while. Sporti euro have smaller coverage, and one inch sides so they tend to fall off more easily, even if tied.

I bought my Desmit and Brave Person suits through Amazon, and have posted a few pics of me in them in the past. as for Speedo Solars butt coverage, I think they show just enough cheek for use in more family friendly areas.Solar73 wrote: ↑Sun May 16, 2021 3:03 pmA few questions for you Dan.ChicagoDan wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 8:29 pmI've got a Desmit and a couple of Brave person. th eBrave Person material is extremely comfortable, and light. The Gary Madjells arrived a couple weeks ago! I paid $22 after shipping, which in my opinion pushes the upper limit of what could be considered cheap swimwear. That being said I really like them. Easily the skimpiest suit I own, the contoured pouch feels great (unlike my desmiit and sporti suits which can feel a bit tight at times). I ordered neon green and the colors really pop on it. I didn't order one of their metallic looking suits but the finish still has a slight shimmer to it. Neat stuff!
