I enjoy swimming in a 1" swim brief which I also wear for competitions.

Not today, but yesterday. I swam a warm up of 200 m (8 laps), later I swam 1000 m (40 laps). I've worn some older briefs which didn't fit right. So it took me 3 minutes more to swim this distance than with my Aussiebum or Neptunescepter speedos.

I’m actually going to the pool tonight – haven’t been in a year or so! (Shame on me...) Although, I did swim in the sea a fair bit this spring and summer.
I haven’t worn my Speedos for ages though, so I’m looking forward to my return to swim as well as my Speedo reunion. I just hope I’m not too horrifically unfit...

How long do you all spend on the pool doing your sets?
Going to start going in the new year and I was wondering what I should start doing to build up my distance. Not worried about putting in fast times.
Love speedos, running shorts, rugby shorts, Aussie rules footy shorts.

Start with 20 mins, progress to 30, then 45, then before you know it you'll be swimming for an hour and maybe more. Let us know how you get on!

So quite funny that this thread has been resurrected - I've started back swimming too! My work schedule over the next month is quite light so I'm making the most of it and getting back into the H2O!

My fitness is not half of what it used to be. I'm swimming about half hour at a time but I've now swum for 5 days in a row!

I'm working towards completing this set here -->

Warm Up
400 Swim
300 Pull
200 Kick
4 x 25 sprint @ 1:00

Main Set
400 Swim
8 x 50 sprint @ 1:00
300 swim
6 x 50 sprint @ 1:00
200 swim
4 x 50 sprint @ 1:00
100 swim
2 x 50 swim @ 1:00

Cool Down
200 pull

At the moment I do the warm up set and then usually hit the sauna, or I'll get to the 8 x 50's and hit the sauna. I'm aiming the complete this set during a session before the end of this month. It feels SO good to be back in the water regurlarly and of course rocking the speedos!

I swam today for about an hour. I do a few laps with just a kickboard, swim a few more, and do some running in the water. Today I tried out my new speedo solar in the black and white stripes. It holds everything in place nicely, but the suit is fully lined (front and back). The suit is a bit heavier. Not sure if I will keep it in my regular rotation.

You have a water polo suit. You should try drag shorts. I hear once you have swam in those over your speedos and then take them off you feel like your swimming faster.

I was indeed horrifically unfit, but I have been quite ill so I’m not too hard on myself – just a little disappointed!
I think if I do a few weeks of 20 minute swims so as not to shock my body and slowly build up, my stamina (and physique!) should improve.

I go to the local council-run pool and, sadly, there is no sauna for post-swim relaxation. Last night I just spent an inordinately long time in the shower to make up for it!

Nate, your regime sounds intense. I can only cross my fingers I build up my stamina to match your swims :)

I don’t think I could do 20mins at the moment. I am so unfit.

I'm about a week back swimming for workouts now after being out of the pool since the end of March. Needless to say the first time back was a bit rough and in a new pool. But now I'm back to about the same swim times I had back in march! I just need to work my endurance back up to hit the same pace over longer distances.

If you want to check out my workouts look at the swim.com link below. I just went to the new apple watch from the pebble too so thats been interesting... along with my new Funky Trunks pony puff square leg suit... pics of that to come ;)

If I was able to create a "league" on swim.com for all of us to workout together all over the world would any of you be interested in joining?
