San Diego beaches

Post by ThongDan » Fri Sep 11, 2015 11:31 am

I'm heading to San Diego for the first time next weekend and should have the opportunity to get in some speedo-wearing time on the beaches there. Any suggestions/recommendations?

The obvious choice sounds like Black's Beach, and if I end up there might break out one of my skimpier thongs or bikinis, but am looking for some backup options as well. I'm pretty confident wearing my speedo solar so long as there are a few other speedo-wearers and/or the beach is relatively uncrowded and I can seek out my own space on the beach.

I was there for the first time a few months ago and had the same question, but had to figure it out for myself.
Black's beach was alright. Not many people there at that time. Would have preferred to see more speedos than I did, not many. Though saw a few naked. Quite a hike to get to.
Coronado beach was pretty cool. More public, nice beach, cool shopping area, easy to get to. Enough people in speedos where you won't look out of place.
But then I happened upon a little park, northeast of Balboa park and just south of Hillcrest. Not a beach but quite a number of guys in speedos spread out on the grass. Near as I can tell now from looking at google maps, it is at Balboa drive and Quince St. If I go back, that's where I am going. Not much in the area for public restrooms. But there is a 7-11 nearby for snacks, etc.
