NEW AB Active suit. Thought?

Post by GRSwimmer » Wed Feb 18, 2015 6:15 am

Any thoughts on the new AB Active suits? I like the look of the cut, but I hate the way the holes look. I might have bought one for laps :/

I would personally prefer to just swim in my normal nylon aussiebums. I find that they are pretty comfy.

I like the cut, too. Curious to see the cut in the back.

I like the cut too. It seems to be made for a smaller frame. Like you, I don't like the eyelets on the suit.

I hate it when a suit looks really good....except for one tiny detail....like a huge logo. I like how AB has made that an option for those who like it.

I've never liked metal "hardware" on a swimsuit. Other than those eyelet holes, I think it looks great.

most waterparks won't let you wear swimwear with metal eyelets on the fast water slides. I guess it can catch and fall off.

I wish they would go back to making more suits without the seam down the center of the front pouch. I have some older Aussiebum suits made that way and they look and feel much better.

I'm with you on the front seam. Always seems awkward.

And the eyelets... eh. I like simple design better. Reminds me of fender portals on old Buicks. Doesn't seem like the best association.

But if that's the same material as the wrestleme suits... it's pretty awesome.

Gentlemen, including Rockman748, Speedo_Arena, ExBex, and GRSwimwear, I share your concerns regarding having a seam "down the centre of the pouch". To me, it just seems to destroy the aesthetic of the design, which is probably a complicated way of saying that it just looks ugly. I can give a "core promise" that this will never happen with Caussie. If you like 100% nylon, and a classic design, then neither you, or we, would ruin it, by even contemplating a Caussie with a front seam. Don't worry, it will never happen...

All the best,

How do we feel about back seams?

Thanks Red^^Speedo, good comment, you've asked the question. I can guess, but I don't actually know what you feel about back seams.

No prizes for knowing that we have much the same reaction to back seams, as to a seam down the front. Not necessary, destroys the aesthetic, etc, etc. Certainly no place in designs featuring 100% nylon.

Enjoy!
