got my new (rubbery) Japan Arena jammer today

Post by Justin88 » Mon Jul 09, 2012 3:48 pm

My new Japan Arena jammer finally came in the mail today. I got a large which is the size I usually take in Asian. It's the same size dimensions as my Yingfa jammer but the suit is like rubber on the inside layered with a tight weave lycra fabric on the outside. The rubber doesn't stretch much. When I opened the package, the suit smelled like a kids balloon when you let the air out-----rubbery.

My Yingfa jammer is a tech fabric that doesn't give much....I thot. This rubberized suit hardly gives at all. I had to put it on really careful because I didn't want to damage it Once it was on it felt great and didn't bind anywhere. I was going to use it for lap swimming but it might not last being worn regularly.

They aren't knockoffs. They're the real thing from Japan made with a special fabric called Shin Rev. I'd been watching them on ebay for months. The web sites been around a long time. They'd been US$85 originally, and got marked down to US$59 when there was only one large pair left. US$85 is about what these go for on Japan only sites. Some of their jammer prints are as much as US$120 and are really beautiful. Just too much $$$ for me.

Yeah, it is kinda. The first time I put it on it seemed like fetishwear. But then I looked in the mirror and it was definitely a comp suit. No worries about it coming off either.... Make a great water polo suit. I'd be embarrassed putting it on in a locker room. I have to pull and adjust so much guys would think I was playing with myself.

The dive shops sell some kind of powder that you put on the inside of the arms and legs of wetsuits to make them easier to put on. Maybe I should use the powder to get into this jammer. The suit might last longer too.

Compared to this Arena, my size 30 Speedo Aquablade is easy to put on. Doesn't seem tight at all.

It's lined with a thin piece of lycra. Its tight around my package. But the compression of the suit is so even its real comfortable. It came with a bunch of tags One is yellow with exclamation points but it's all in Japanese. I'm going to email the seller for a translation.

hey thanks elelctric--the inside feels and looks like rubber but the outside is tight weave of lycra. oh...there's a very thin lycra lining in the front crotch. It's the tightest suit I own and takes time to put on. but once its on it really feels like a second skin. After I took the pics today I forgot I had them on and wore them for a couple hours while I made breakfast, paid some bills and surfed the web. Cant wait to swim in them.... Hope they dont wear out too fast. theyve already stretched a little.

It may squish the back, but it certainly did not squish the front! You look great. Loved the blue Arenas, too.
