It's great to finally find a group of likeminded speedo guys. My name is Riley Im 22yo and from Santa Barbara California and now live in Sydney Australia. What I love about OZ is its compulsary to only wear a speedo at public swimming pools. As a vollenteer beach lifesaver our uniform is a surf cap and speedo, not like in the US having to wear baggy red shorts.

Compulsory to wear speedos at public swimming pools? I wish!!

Even the lifeguards at my local public pool wear shorts and t-shirts :(

Im jealous of where you are. I wish i was there or in Europe.... its kinda the same as you described in some places. I miss the comfort of walking around in speedo, off or on the beach.

Welcome Riley.
Unfortunately, when I have been to the beach here in Sydney or up North in Queensland, all the young guys wear shorts or boardies. There was even an artlicle about it in last weekend's Sydney Morning Herald.

The younger guys are very much into American fashion -baggy jeans, baseball caps etc and as such it is a fashion thing rather than a moralistic thing.

Still, all the guys doing swimming training or livesavers going in the surf wear speedos - for good reason, trying to swim fast or in the ocean surf in shorts is like pulling a tent along.

Same here, I'd love to be there. I just wish the shorts were done away with.
