Shampoo/bodywash?

I figured this was the best forum for this topic on the board, not totally speedo-related, kind of on-the-sidelines.

Anyhooo, I notice alot of guys swim laps in pools, so I thought I'd ask how you deal with purging the pool chemical from your hair. I googled speedo shampoo and found this:

It's not me, it's (obviously) Michael Phelps, and he's doing a shampoo endorsement (wearing a product-placement speedo), but the item being advertised is actually the shampoo.

I use Ultra-swim to get rid of the chlorine, although it's expensive here in Canada, it works. But over the last few years, the hair on my head seems to have stopped growing. I have not visited a barber for over 3 years, and it never gets past my earlobes. I believe what has actually happened is that the chlorine has burned the ends of my hair to such a point that it has actually cut each hair right down to the bare stalk. I spend about 2 hours daily in chlorinated water. I started noticing my hair was also flat and sticking close to my head, so, recently I have been following up the Ultra-swim wash/rinse with a volumizer/conditioner, and this seems to have brought it back. For a few years though, I did not use the Ultra-swim.

Funny, my beard still grows and I must trim it twice weekly as ever, body hairs (legs/chest) seem "singed" and it appears as if they have grown back from shaving down, but I do not do this (I don't swim fast enough for it to matter LOL)! Again, I say the chlorine has burnt off the fine points and left them stubby. Pubes like beard, still intact.

Has anyone else experienced this, and what do you guys use for shampoo after swimming, if not Ultra-swim? I tried to find a Speedo brand shampoo, but did not. (But I did find a hot picture of Michael Phelps!).

PS: Sorry if this is too much "personal information", and even though I do 2 hours swimming daily, alas, I do not look anything like the incredibly talented Mr. Ripped, uh, Mr. Phelps...:))

My stylist gave me shampoo for color treated hair. He said that it will replenish the oils that chlorine sucks out. I switched my own pool to the salt water system and it has made a huge difference with my skin and hair. I only wear nylon suits, but I am told that the lycra or spandex suits hold up much better in the saline water than in the chlorine.
One thing I did learn from meeting with a marketing man from Speedo,NA. He said that you shouldn't use shampoo (unless baby shampoo) or deodorant soaps on Speedos -- especially the lycra/spandex suits. Take them off when you shower -- rinse in cool or warm water and hang to dry. Don't take your body soap and rub it over the suit to wash it or you through it. It will break down the stretch and color faster. He did say that you can toss them in the washing machine that has a lingerie cycle in cold water (not "delicate" -- just "lingerie") He did say that the most important thing about washing a speedo in the washing machine is to tie the string so it won't slip out during the wash.

Tanned bum, I'd be interested to know if the speedo rep mentioned at all if there were plans to launch a speedo brand of hair shampoos, or the like.

There is another brand of chlorine neutralizing body wash called TriSwim. They also make shampoo, lotion, and conditioner. It's great for both triathletes and swimmers alike.
