Shaving
I dont yet have a speedo but i am about to shave for the first time. I read on the internet if this isnt done right it can end up in itching and disscomfort, does anyone have advice for a first timer?
Re: Shaving
shave in the direction of the pubes, there will almost always be some irritation the first few times, your body eventually gets over it... there are other methods besides shaving though.
Re: Shaving
hey there, i have been shaving sense i started growing pubic hair, and i would have to agree with the above post, for the first while, shave with the grain... which is to say, save in the direction that the hair is going. it wont be as smooth a shave as if you shave against the grain, but it wont cause as much irritation.. which is key. after the skin gets used to being shaved then you can start to shave against the grain at your own discretion. also, and equally as important: remember to use a GOOD amount of shaving cream... preferably the kind for supper sensitive skin. and i would recommend the first shave to be done either at the end of a nice hot bath, or in the shower... you want to let the hair soak up the hot water, and allow the poor to open up to let the shaving cream do its work better ^_^. and above all else.... TAKE YOUR TIME ^_^. hope that helps

Re: Shaving
I dont shave or trim because the stubbly bits are itchy and they will poke through your speedo like a wire brush. I'd save some money and get it removed using a laser at a laser hair removing place. This way it actually kills the hair and any new hair is actual new fine hair instead of stubble. You wont have to get it done often (eg once before the summer) and you dont have to maintain such as daily shaves other than when you decide to have another go at it.

Re: Shaving
I found out that the Braun 8995 shaver can be used on the entire body! Longer hair can be trimmed with it first, and the double blade and micro trimmer take care of the rest. I shave my legs, chest and tummy with it without any problems. Works on the armpits and with pubic hair, too! The great thing is that the machine is cleaned and desinfected with alcohol in a special clean & charge unit after shaving. I bring the unit and the shaver with me on holidays, so before I lay out in the sun, I touch up my body with it. It seems to last forever, as I use the machine intensively and have done so for the last 5 years.
Talcum powder with menthol is great to use pre/post shaving with an electrical device. It cools the skin and wicks moist away, so it'll glide way better.
I just think that no matter the method one uses, the skin needs to get used to it. I'd only recommend not to give up too soon. The result is worth it. :D
