Aussiebum popularity in Australia

Aussiebum seems to be popular over most of the world except in Australia where it's based. Does anyone have any ideas why?

I'm right alongside you Beachie - doing my best to work the Aussiebums.

Bondiboy, ABs are relatively common at Ian Thorpe pool, Cook + Phillip and Victoria Park. Apart from the eastern suburbs beaches like Tamarama, I've seen a fair few burly blokes showing them off at at Manly and Shelley Beaches.

Got to keep your eyes peeled. And your swimmers if you get lucky....

I'm Australian and have tried aussiebum and other brands. To be honest, I'm not too impressed with the fabric Aussiebum uses - it's too loose and too thin. Maybe Aussiebum is ok for smaller/petite guys . I like nylon better.

I know in London, you see Aussiebum advertisements literally EVERYWHERE. The subway, bus stops, etc. And the only place I know where you can buy it is at John Lewis.

Seen a couple of guys in them near me, but they are not that common.
