How long do speedos last?

How long do speedos last?
I bought a pair not so long ago and after about 5 swims they're starting to lose thier colour. Is the clorine to harsh or don't they last long? (It's 80 poly, 20 spandex)
Re: How long do speedos last?
No thats sounds way too short. They should last a season at least.
Re: How long do speedos last?
It also depends on the brand, since they don't all use the same types of inks in the fabric, so some will wear out faster than others, also I'm pretty sure patterns tend to wear out faster than solids. If it's Speedo brand, then the color shouldn't be wearing out that fast, it's more than likely the chlorine in the pool though.
Re: How long do speedos last?
It's a Speedo speedo, and it's solid. The colour is just fading. I don't know if it is like an initial fade or something.
Re: How long do speedos last?
hmm solid Speedos, usually last a while before starting to fade, because the color isn't printed onto the fabric but dyed. So it's got to be a high level of chlorine in the pool, unless it was a bad batch or something, which I doubt.Cozzy wrote:It's a Speedo speedo, and it's solid. The colour is just fading. Are they "Speedo" brand or another company?Cozzy wrote:I bought a pair not so long ago and after about 5 swims they're starting to lose thier colour. Is the clorine to harsh or don't they last long? (It's 80 poly, 20 spandex)
What color are they??
Re: How long do speedos last?
Yes, they're 'Speedo' speedos and they are a darkish blue (with a yellow speedo motif.) Someone in the forum has the same one in their avatar.Justin88 wrote:Are they "Speedo" brand or another company?Cozzy wrote:I bought a pair not so long ago and after about 5 swims they're starting to lose thier colour. Re: How long do speedos last?
Like others have said it might be defective material or too much chlorine.Cozzy wrote: Yes, they're 'Speedo' speedos and they are a darkish blue (with a yellow speedo motif.) Someone in the forum has the same one in their avatar.
The polyester/lycra is blend is usually pretty good.
Maybe you could get the seller to exchange for a new one.
