suits with short lifespans

I hear of suits like the Speedo LAZR, and other similar suits that cost hundreds of dollars, that can only be worn a certain number of times, then they loose their effectiveness.

What does one do with a suit that is past it's best, that has been worn it's maxium number of times?

Seemingly they end up on places like eBay. There's one on the UK eBay just now and according to the seller, it was used 4 times in a competitive race (I think), so I can only presume that's when it starts to lose its effectiveness and is no longer wanted by the person who wear it.

Seem a bit pointless - when I'm buying a new Speedo brief, it usually cost me around £10 ($18 CAD) and lasts much, more longer. Plus it doesn't take me 30-40 mins to put on my briefs every time!

What is the actual lifespan of a suit (of any given style)?

I'm still not sure how I could get my hands on a used one.

Like Speedo76 says keep checking ebay. not sure how many laps you'd get out of those stretched uber tech suits. dont know if the stretching slows down or not as the suit gets less tight.

All-nylon suits like Aussiebum or Cossie last a long time. you could probly buy those used and get some use out of em. Lycra suits who knows.
I bot an Aquablade used and the butt started to wear out after a couple times at the pool. should have bot one new at swimoutlet. the blade is sort of a tech fabric that sheds water. the guy who owned it might have sat on a concrete or coralstone pool deck. It's like sandpapering the suit. the fibres get pulled out. you have to be real careful.
