Hi Dave, How are things over there, yes Im not in your neighborhood, Im in Canada, I have friends in Southampton, Fareham, and Devon, Just wondered where you were exactly. Question mark? Sorry, but I'm confused by what you mean as 'Southern UK'.
It is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, so it must be 'southern Great Britain and Northern Ireland'. That doesn't make much sense, unless you remove Northern Ireland. However, the Great Britain referred to in the title is the kingdom of Great Britain, formed by the kingdoms of England and Scotland. That's a geographical area stretching from the Shetland Islands to the Isle of Wight, where the mid-point is just south of Edinburgh.
