Here is an Idea. We should get a group of speedo people to go to a beach where you would normally not see this type of attire and take it over!!! LOL Pick any beach within a reasonable distance so as to make it easy. Do this multiple times on different dates and beaches. Before you know it, people may come accustom to the benefits of speedos again, (Maybe) Just an idea.
