Need some advice guys

Truth be told...I've never worn a speedo. I've worn different kinds of briefs and bikini type underwear, but only in my own home or to the occasional sexual encounter. They've always turned me on. Seeing guys in them, thinking about wearing one...

So here's where I need the advice. Should I just go to the department store and start fishing around? Are there different sizes, or am I going to have to guess if I'm a medium or large? I'm a pretty shy guy, and I want to be confident about being seen in a speedo. I'm not tooting my own horn, but I have a decent bulge (until the water gets cold) and I'm afraid I'm going to have a boner that won't go away, or the speedo won't fit.

What's a shy guy to do?

secondly, ye go for it, find a shop tht sells it then u can just look for your size, not too sure about sizes tho, some come in Medium and Large style sizes orther in waist size, but im going from UK styles, American may be designed diffrent on the labels i just dont know. its nothing to be shy about buying, plenty of people buy them every day. i hope you overcome your shyness, after you do it once you can do it a million times lol

Welcome skippyJ - depending on the manufacturer, the method of sizing varies ... in the US, some use S/M/L and others use waist sizes (usually in even-inch increments). I say go to a sporting-goods store and just try a few on - and don't be shy about the bulge - thats what makes them fun to wear (ok - there are other things too, but thats one of them ... )

there is variation in sizes between manufacturers and sometimes even within one company's products. Let's say you usually take a size 34 waist, you may find that some size 32 and size 36 fit. as an example, you might wear a TYR size 32 and a Speedo size 34. Yul hear about "downsizing" which is forcing you (and all yuv got) into a smaller size than what you consider your normal size.

If you shop at a sporting goods store or a swim shop (which primarily sells Speedos to competitive swimmers and teams), they expect shoppers to try on and buy Speedos.

i get a red face when i pay for a speedo but on the way out with product you know you did right

trust me, i live in canada, speedos are despised...

or if worse comes to worse, buy on ebay.. the selection is astounding!

Well, I don't where you from, but go to a department store, sport shop, or surf shops even. Online shopping is fine - but you need to know what you are looking for, so its beter to try some on first. When you try some on, size up - so if your brief underwear is a medium try a large and see how it fits. And look at the sides of the speedos - depending on your body tipe a 1.5 inch side is uasaly beter. Racer speedos are beter is you are planning to use it to do some laps - but I don't think you planning to do that. But remember there are 'speedos' and then there are 'speedos', but you need to find the ones that you like and have fun - and ideally with some one.

I've gone to Sports Authority to try on suits. You can see how different brands fit. Like Speedo and nike. There was a swim shop near where I live but they closed the store and went on the internet. Try downsizing and upsizing. Both can look hot. I wear 31 jeans but have downsized to even a 26 in some speedos. I wear a condom when I try them on in the store to prevent leaks.
