Battle of the Network Stars 1979

Post by Thom » Sun May 15, 2022 12:20 pm

Here's a youtube video of Battle of the Network Stars. After the intro, they go into a swimming event at about the 5:30 mark. The sides were wide on their speedos.

Willie Ames, who was on some sitcoms in that era, swam really well. If you grew up in California, as he did, lap pools were readily available.

Looking at the gals, there wasn't much, um, lining in those era suits. Jiggling all over the place.

The swimming provided plenty of great scenery for whatever you wanted to look at but the real action was at the dunk tank. Speedos and one-pieces abound. Charlene Tilton (Dallas), Randi Oakes (CHiPs), Erin Gray...excuse me, I'll be right back....

Ha ha! I watched Battle of the Network Stars as a kid and drooled over those women! And was envious of the men that looked so comfortable and confident in small completion style swimsuits. Erin Gray, YES! But I had the biggest hard on for Kristy McNichol.

In the show she was on, "Family", wasn't she on her H.S. swim team or something? I remember her running around on a pool deck in a swimsuit, which absolutely got my attention....

A guy looking surprisingly fit and athletic, rocking a speedo, was Gabe Kaplan of Welcome Back, Kotter. He ran H.S. track, which came in handy for the epic BOTNS clip where there was a track event dispute and it was settled with a match race between him and Robert Conrad (why was everyone scared to death of this 130lb. A-hole?) and Gabe SMOKED him!

I would religiously watch the show so I could see sexy stars in speedos. The only guys I ever saw in Speedos were tourists in Waikiki... So, seeing these guys and Greg Louganis turned me on. All the Soap opera stars were HOT! (met the guy who played Kelly on Guiding Light here in Atlanta and sucked his cock in the gym steam room!)
Love speedos and spandex almost as much as I love cocks shooting cum.

Greg Louganis--he competed more than once in ABC's The Superstars competition, which featured pro athletes from all disciplines. Greg usually won the swimming competition handily, looking great in a speedo of course. Most of the other athletes swam in speedos, although some of the bigger guys opted for a square-cut or the like.

Willie Ames also did a "Blue Lagoon" knockoff called "Paradise" back in 1982

I didn’t watch Family much (hated sappy shows full of life drama messaging) so sadly missed seeing her in swimsuit scenes but on Battle... I remember one event where they were playing some type of carnival game, throwing balls at bottles or ring toss or whatever, nowhere near the pool but Kristy was competing while wearing only her string bikini top over shorts or jeans and I was in love.

My god! Thank you for these Kristy swimsuit bikini pics! Making me remember why I had the hots for her!

I’m guessing a lot of it was because she was around my own age and I fantasized about her as girlfriend material.

Diveguy--aww you missed it. Kristy was afraid of jumping off the diving platform or something like that. She finally did it, compete with underwater shots. Then emerged soaking wet from the pool.

According to this Wiki article, she left acting in 2001 and announced that she was a lesbian in 2012.

At least, it made enough at the box office to get its production costs back, and a little more.
