I purchased my first swim brief (don't remember the brand) when I was in college -- 1973 or so.

I’ve always had them, ever since I could remember, even as a really small kid. I never thought much about them until I was into the senior school, so probably about 12. But I would always wear them, pool, beach whatever. A mate and I when in Yr7 (12) until probably Yr10 (15) would go out in his dads tinny each year for the day on the Hawkesbury River, find a beach, swim, play in the mud, beach cricket with his dad and spend the day in our speedos. I didn’t think too much about it at the time, but it was pretty cool. We would always get so sunburnt and spend the next 2 weeks painfully shedding skin like an old snake and mum rubbing sunburn lotion in all the time. Anyway, I don’t ever recall not wearing speedos but I was probably into them from when I was about 12 or 13. Life thesis over.

I've been into them for probably 30 to 35 years. It initially started off as just age group swim team uniform and grew from there. It was always fun changing into my speedo with the other boys around getting into their speedos and jammers. I tried jammers for a couple years but firmly came back to my senses and went back to speedo briefs.

As far back as i can remember, i've always liked/loved speedos, but never had the selfconfidence and/or selfsteeme to wear them un public, until i decided to grow a parir, be myself and wear my speedo at the beach two years ago. Now i'm 39 and i wear them whenever i want, wherever i want.

Oh Jesus, Sam. When's the bloody novel coming out? Or did we just hear the first three chapters? We could always nominate it for the Miles Franklin award - best account of Aussie life in such-a-such a century or something, and force all the eighth graders to read it. Not that anyone reads books these days. We'll have to turn it into a video game ...

Just teasing you, bro - you know we love you and your posts. 8)

I wanted a pair since they came on my radar, which was primary school. But didn't own my first pair til my late teens, as my parents only believed in shorts-type swimwear. We were a very prudish family. My sister wore bloomers to school!

Wearing them since 3 years old. Stopped it at 6. Fan since 9. Wearing them again since 15.
Speedos are the best swimwear around. Period.

Photos of me wearing them go back to about 3 years old, and have been wearing them on and off ever since.
I grew up near the beach and so I lived in swimwear all summer. I was a competitive swimmer in high school so wore them all through those years, though not always socially.
We had a pool growing up too where lots of kids in the street would hang out. My neighbour and I always wore speedos, and lots of us would skinny dip when parents weren't around.

I've been wearing 'em since I was a little nipper possibly age five or six? They're the swimming costume most everyone wore. I swam for school from primary through uni, they've always been what I slip on when I'm going swimming at either the pool or beach. They never have been some kind of fetish as with some.
