My wife and I went to Maui a couple of years ago- at the Marriott in the Kaanapali area- and one of the afternoon she stayed by the pool and I went for a walk. I went all the way up to Black Rock Beach and turned around. On the way back, I shucked my shorts and walked the rest of the way to the Hyatt Regency (maybe a mile?) in just speedos. I was the only guy I saw in them, but man, did it feel great. It was so liberating.SEASPEEDO wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2019 5:57 amI've been going to Hawaii since the mid 70's and would agree that there were more speedos in the early days.
As I've mentioned in other posts, in the last couple of years, I've seen a few others in speedos, so that I wasn't the only lone soldier... but they are few and far between!
I've also had some "side eye", but I just ignore it and enjoy myself... sunning, swimming, snorkeling in my speedo!
I've already booked 3 weeks on Maui next winter and can't wait to hit the beach in my speedo!
Can't wait to go back!
