What is "speedo-friendly" and does it matter?

Ya, I agree, everyone can wear what they want, and as long as you feel comfortable, it is probably speedo friendly. I have seen some very open aggression towards speedos in the U.S. (I've travelled extensively, and this is a U.S. specific hang-up). I have been asked to wear shorts over my speedo at hotel pools before, and at a water park, where both times I was told to do so because of 'the kids'. #WTF.

Crazy. Well I am european and it’s really hard to believe that.

Hasn't happened to me..... I've worn them on beaches and at pools in along the West Coast and in Hawaii and Arizona.... oh and Las Vegas, and no issues...

If you hear people saying EWWWW, see them shrinking in horror and shielding the eyes of their children, I'd say that's probably NOT speedo-friendly--but I've never encountered that. Actually, the only EWWW I've ever got was when I offered a gay friend a pair of speedos that were too big for me, still with tags. I thought he'd think they were cool. Blue with white splice. But no. I experienced Speedo-rejection.

Not to offend anyone but I think the EWWWW factor turns into an awe factor when the speedo wearer is fit.

Oh, I agree. Unfortunately, there are more EWWWs than awes. Same for women in bikinis.
