Fort Launderdale hotel recommendations
Hey, guys...thinking about a trip to Ft Lauderdale...any recommendations for hotels that are near or on the beach and at least somewhat close to the aquatic center? Thanks in advance!
Re: Fort Launderdale hotel recommendations
It depends on how much you want to spend. There are a number of chain hotels on the beach near the aquatic center. Expensive even in the off-season. There are older, smaller motels/hotels on the "mar" streets (Vistamar, Terramar, etc). They aren't too far from the aquatic center (it has pay parking) and you can walk to the beach. I'd look in that area. There are gay places and straight places.

Here's a map of the area. The Aquatic Center is south of Las Olas on the intracoastal just to the left of the copyright. There are all sorts of hotels within walking distance of the beach in the area north of Las Olas called "Birch Ocean Front," which is about a mile away or less. If you really want to feel relaxed in your speedos, stay at a gay place. Speedo-friendly Sebastian St. Beach is near the area called "Central Beach."

yeah i'd consider airbnb. Or hotels.com. There's tons of hotels and places to stay, some ok price, some cheap, some super expensive.

I took a drive down to Fort Lauderdale this evening to check out the Birch Oceanfront area. Some roads are closed off because of road and building construction. There aren't as many smaller hotels here anymore because they've been demolished to put up giant hotels and condominiums. The real estate has become very valuable, and the smaller hotels are being bought out. There are still some around, including a few gay ones--the ones with the nicest, secluded swimming pools. For mainstream places, Trivago seemed helpful. For the gay ones, just google gay hotels Fort Lauderdale beach or something like that. Tripadvisor.com lists gay places. Generally, prices are much more reasonable at this time of year than during the winter season.

Worthington gay guesthouse Fort Lauderdale Its two blocks from the beach and not far from the aquatic center. I go their once a year and love it. Very speedo friendly. Once I am there all I wear is my speedo. The pools are clothing optional.
Re: Fort Launderdale hotel recommendations
Thanks for the recommendation, Oceanrunner. You jogged my memory. About ten years ago, a friend stayed at Villa Venice, which is one of the Worthington properties. I visited him when he was there. It was awesome to be in a speedo-friendly environment. The rooms were nice. We also went to a speedo friendly area of Fort Lauderdale Beach at the very north end near NE 18th St. He preferred it to Sebastain St, but they're both cool. My friend is a strong swimmer with a lean, muscular build. He did his laps at the FtL Aquatic Centre. I wish I could have stayed longer, but I had to get back to work.Oceanrunner79 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 01, 2018 5:32 amWorthington gay guesthouse Fort Lauderdale Its two blocks from the beach and not far from the aquatic center. Here's another place, The Grand Resort and Spa. They have designated weekends in July and August when it's all-clothing-optional all the time. Popped up on a Facebook ad. The pics make it look like speedo heaven, when people aren't buck naked instead.

Also many of the gay resorts in Fort Lauderdale have day passes for the pool and hot tub. You do not have to stay their just call find out when they offer the passes and just pay for a day use of the pool.

The Worthington was a good experience for me however it can be pricey.
