most UNcomfortable suit

Post by Bullseye » Thu Feb 01, 2018 5:11 pm

So there is a thread for most comfortable suit, but you know you have at least one pair that is uncomfortable, right?
Maybe you bought a size (or two) too small, maybe they are a bad cut, maybe too tight in the front, or slide down in the back... For me it is my polyester Nike water polo briefs. http://www.nikeswim.com/products/detai ... -brief#614 I like how they look, but I hate how they feel. Zero stretch. I guess I could have gone a size up, but they I think this is the right size.

Any pair of jammers I ever tried to swim in. Yuck, I hate them.

You're right - they do look good. Shame about the stretch ...

They look great, but if they are not comfortable then no use!

I had some Arena swim briefs, these were a little on the small side which made them uncomfortable and I wasn’t happy with how they felt. I ended up giving them away.
Love speedos, running shorts, rugby shorts, Aussie rules footy shorts.

I would say any aussiebum suit with WJ. I tried them several times and they did give a fantastic profile, but after a short time the top edge of the pouch began cutting in.

Well they look great on you, no matter how they actually feel. I have a few Nike briefs and whilst I wold normally go for a size 34in Speedo brand, I always go for 36in with Nike - the sizing is tighter and there's not as much stretch. What really makes Nike briefs look good is the rear centre seam which some briefs have.
Speedos - the only way to swim...

Well for me Turbo fits too tight especially in the back. But trying to get sizing right can be a pain for European stuff.

Funky Trunks sizing can be off. The size for the sunga styles vary from briefs cut.

I have an Adidas swim brief that has an uncomfortable fit. I do not know whether the sizing is different since I ordered it from Europe, but it just hits the wrong spots for me.

Hi avyblackmaroon, I hope you are well?
They do recommend that you order the Adidas swim brief one size larger as they are a bit snug.

Ah, ok. Yes, perhaps a size up may do the trick!

I tried them, but then I went back to speedo cuts. Too much fabric.

I don’t mind them so much. But considering I’ve worn really small Speedos for fun, my normal size being 30” and most being 26” or even as small as a 24” Lycra pair with them being tight, but not painfully uncomfortable.

The most uncomfortable pair I’ve worn were a pair of TYR jammers. I normally wouldn’t have bought them (far too expensive) but I spotted them new with tags on a well-known auction site, and won them for a forth of their original retail price with postage. They fitted great in the bum, crotch and legs, except the elastic in the leg seams. It honestly felt like I had two tight elastic bands around my thighs. And although they relaxed a bit while in the pool, as soon as I got out and they began to dry the fabric sort of shrunk and compressed even more than if they were dry. And nothing I tried to stretch them out worked, shame as I quite liked them other than that.

Karlos, I bought the same suit! Thin, tech material and nice anatomic cut. But those leg bands killed me. I thought it would be the one jammer I'd like... but no. And they never stretched out much. I have a Speedo brand jammer with the ball-splitter center seam that a lady friend gave me as a gift. The fabric is just too heavy.

These were 100% Polyester. The fabric didn't really bother me, as I've got others of the same material of different makes, but it was the elastic used for the leg seams that were so uncomfortable.

Yes, it was the elastic. It was painful. The fabric was fine, a tech fabric sort of like the Speedo Aqua blade.
