Varadero, Cuba or Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

This is where I stayed before:

Varadero, Cuba: Iberostar Laguna Azul resort
Punta Cana, Dominican Republic: Riu Bamboo

It wasn't that bad for me when I wore swim briefs. But I noticed that the black Adidas swim briefs were worn by older men - very old, like mid 70's and up. that discouraged me from wearing those swim briefs. I am hoping to get back there again, to one of those places.

Does anyone know if it has gotten better for guys to wear speedos there or if there is a particular resort that is gay friendly (I'm not gay) or at least speedo freindly?

I visited Excellence resorts in punta Cana (2014) and Cancun Mexico (2015) and was the only speedo wearer my wife or I saw at either. I did get enough compliments to not think twice about doing it though. Since you brought up age and sexuality, I'm in my 30s and not gay and did not feel out of place amongst the many drunken and gossip hungry patrons with lots of wandering eyes. My point is, wear what you want; you're going to get noticed and talked about anyways.

I'll be On Bavaro Beach, in Punta Cana DR in December! I haven't been since I was in HS about 15 years ago, and I remember seeing quite a few swim briefs primarily on vacationing Europeans at the time.

So excited to bring my own stock this time, will report back...
