Swinsuit Fit

Post by villageguy » Mon Sep 12, 2016 11:26 am

OK..older guy with no butt and a belly (doesn't hang over the boys).

Do water aerobics 3x a week...BTW no comments of me wearing speedos.

Problem is the briefs ( Speedo) backs come sliding down. I use to wear the Speedo Solar but now don't stay up in the back!

Frustrated. Have tried MANY speedo types and all the same.

Looking for suggestions...be nice now!

Try Marcuse. They fit pretty snug and have a great cut. Low waisted but a good swim brief without an enhancing pouch. They have sales on their website often, excellent customer service, quick shipping and extremely good quality. I've purchased some on sale for less than a speedo solar when those are on sale!

Speedo solar are really low cut so it does not surprise me they come down in the back. My first thought was the Speedo Launch Splice brief however, you indicated all Speedo brand suits do the same thing. The one suggestion I have is that you should look for a suit that has a bigger cut on the side. This adds fabric up and down around the bottom of your butt. It sounds like you need a suit that is 4-5" on the side and not the Speedo Solar which is just over 1". It really does make a difference if you lay the two over each other and how they stay put on your backside.

An affordable brand is Diana and they make suits that are more generous in the seat. Funky Trunks also makes suits that are basically between briefs and square leg (think of a smaller version of a Sunga). That brand is a little more expensive. Also, when looking for a suit, make sure it has a drawstring tie on the inside which I think keeps the suit tighter around the waist which will help them stay up. Proswimwear.co.uk has some decent prices as does swiminn.com. I find those sites can be cheaper than swimoutlet.com .

Here is the cut/style I am trying to describe.

http://www.proswimwear.co.uk/diana-star ... 32-40.html

IMHO, I would stay away from Asian brand suits. While they are cheap, the fit varies tremendously and you already seem frustrated. I don't think the cost is worth the disappointment at this point in time.

hope that helps..

Thanks for the feedback guys. Think'll start with a more snug fitting brief swimsuit.
Tried tightening a draw string only made it worse! Go figure!

Next I will try swimsuit with wider sides .

err, have you ever considered working your glutes, grab a board and kick with fins making sure you kick from the hips and not the kness.
Fins should be short to add resistance not speed
