Speedo Suggestions

Post by hijay » Mon Nov 02, 2015 2:06 pm

Hey guys,

I want to expand my speedo collection since the majority I own are speedo brand and navy or black. (pretty boring)

If anyone has suggestions on their favourite brands/ types I'd be all ears. I'd be interested more in something to swim in practically but then of course also look/feel good in too haha

Search, my friend! There are quite a few topics here that have great recommendations for different style suits.

And yes ... Aqux suits are awesome. I have quite a few. Inexpensive with cool designs.

Look for Vuthy Sim on Etsy ... lots of nice things there! I just ordered a patterned suit and can't wait. :)

Also try asian cut Arena suits. Arena makes suits in Europe, also. The ones they make in Asia are cut much lower and skinnier on the sides. With your body type, that kind of suit would look outstanding on you.

Agree with the comments above.
I would suggest hitting ebay. This is what I do, you can buy plenty of different suits at reasonable prices, try them and either keep or sell on again. It is difficult to try a new suit with tags before returning them, but this way you can even wear them once or twice before washing and selling. Good luck, have fun experimenting!

With your location, you're in luck! Buy Australian! Aside from a couple of odd fitting Aussiebums (which plenty of others here have experienced) they are still very good. The Swish model in particular is very practical for swimming, but looks good too. Unfortunately, it only comes in solids. But, the Animal series is an almost identical cut to this, but with wild animal print, and the inner lining is slightly less as thick. The outer material is also extremely silky smooth. So if you are looking to move outside your comfort zone without being obscene, this might be a good one to try. And they're currently on sale.

With any other Australian brands I've tried, they perfect the fitting and cut, both front and back sides. Currently loving a brand called Tribe, but also love 2eros and Supawear, Cocksox (maybe not in public), Marcuse, Croota.

If you are looking for designs that are a little different but still good for practicality and price I'd look at Aussie brands like Budgy Smuggler, Kozii, or Funky Trunks.

They do plain solid colours but also fun prints, and they wear well, have good materials, and offer varied styles and fits.

Alternatively try well known brands like Arena for practicality and durability. I like the 80% Nylon ones the the best, the feel is great.
