G'day Guys,

Welcome to the Speedo Forum.

If you are a guest, you can only see a small portion of the forum. Members like posting their speedo selfies so I don't like that to be 100% public. However, joining is free.

If you are a new member, you need to email me your username so I can manually activate your account. This is a pain (for you and me) but it is the only way I've been able to keep the spam bots from ruining the forum. My email address is: DaveEvans@SpeedoFetish.com

Hello forum,

Finally joined after lurking for a while. The forum is a great source of speedo inspiration and I think the friendly atmosphere is fantastic. I grew up in the US, wearing board shorts (of course), then switched to speedos when I moved to Europe *of course*. What a revelation.

I wear an Adidas black three-strip brief for swimming laps at the pool, but other suits on the rare beach vacation. I'll put up an avatar pic once I get around to taking a good one. Later!

Hi and welcome! Wow, an American now living in Europe and embracing the Speedo. I think that's awesome!

I plan to visit some of what I perceive to be the most speedo friendly countries, such as Italy, France, Spain, Greece and Croatia. My concern is however that I think the current generation of young males have abandoned the speedo in favor of the god awful American knee-length swim pants (that's what I'm calling them from now on). Would love to hear your thoughts and perspective on it as a "local" there.

Would also love to hear your story on wearing a speedo for the very first time, and whether you did it eagerly and willingly (already had the interest but now also the opportunity), or were you forced into it by a sense of duty to the culture or even to obey laws such as France's mandatory speedo law. If it was the latter, what was the point where you became a fan of speedos such that you are now a member of our speedo loving community?

Happy Speedo-ing!

Hey speedoswim, from the latest entrants onto this Forum, the US men are certainly, but slowly, becoming speedo wearers, not to say speedo friendly, just guys putting up with the anti/pro-gay speedo crap. There are a lot of guys on here, active and in-active, going ahead and wearing a speedo, proudly so in the States.

Must say, glad you have found your comfort zone!

Keep speedoing, Snow
Let's keep it brief.

Thanks for the welcome, guys.

It started with square-cut swim briefs at the pool, since as you say board shorts are not allowed at pools here. Then I switched to speedos for the freedom of movement and because, well, guys look great in them! And they feel awesome to swim/suntan in.

A lot of younger guys definitely seem to favor jammers at the pool and even "swim pants" (lol) at the beach but I wouldn't say the speedo is dying out here. There's no speedo shame, which is as it should be. And I'm glad to hear that things are improving back home.
