Why is Grindr anti-speedo?

Post by DaveSpeedoEvans » Sun Jan 04, 2015 8:41 pm

Hey guys,

Today I was updating my Grindr profile and I couldn’t believe that all of my speedo selfies were not approved. It sucks.

I tried a few times, starting off with me infront of the mirror wearing a speedo (no erection or anything pornographic). I then even went as far as wearing a pair of boardies and undid the front button to show off a pair of AussieBum Portseas and even that photo was banned.

I'm pretty sure that Tinder allows speedo selfies - why wouldn't a gay app allow a non-pornographic speedo pic?

Yes this is very much a problem and I don't understand it. I always have to link to my insta on my grinder just to show off my new speedos during the summer its a real pain. I hope Grindr staff changes there mind. Maybe we all need to write to them.

Here is an interview with the Grinder creator, it talks about apple requirements for only above the belt pictures

Energ1ze,

That makes sense - Apple is a pain in the arse how they have to 'approve' all apps. I was thinking of doing a Speedo Photo of the Day app but it would be android only.

I wonder how Tinder gets away with it? I'm assuming they have it on Apple - perhaps they are at risk of being shut down.

Dave,
Interesting, becasue there are a few guys wearing briefs on my Grindr. I suppose it is allowed because I have an android, which this just gives me another reason to have never liked Apple.

Keep speedoing, Snow
Let's keep it brief.

The whole Apple censoring thing (which is what it is when it comes to this sort of content) is hypocritical imho. After all, I can get porn pics via Safari on my iPhone, so shouldn't Apple ban Safari too?
