Visiting Ft. Lauderdale & Miami

Post by Speedo_arena » Sun Nov 09, 2014 12:42 pm

Hi,

I will be getting away for next week to Fort Lauderdale and Miami. Anyone have recommendations of particular beaches, shops to get speedos etc? I appreciate any help.

I was down to Maimi a few years back, and stayed right at Surfside beach, just north of the city. There was hardly anyone there so you can do whatever you wanted. I took a different pair of speedos each day and the few people who were there could care less. There were a few other guys wearing them when I was there.

Have fun--make sure you let us know how the trip went!

I’ve vacationed in Miami a few times. Two must see areas:

South Beach, just west of downtown Miami across the MacArthur Causeway, is a long and wide beach, but also a many-block neighborhood of countless art deco hotels, shops and restaurants, with laid-back locals and tourists. Some topless on the beach. No nude. Gay and straight friendly. Great people watching. So busy that weekend parking can be a hassle. This is also an important area for nightlife and clubbing. On any tourist map of the area.

And Haulover Beach, roughly 10 miles or so north, but still in Miami Beach, is a big and easily accessible nude and clothing optional beach. Again, gay and straight friendly. Again, great people watching, though most won’t be paying much attention to you. Mainly an older crowd during the week, all ages on weekends. Easy parking for a fee across the street. On most tourist maps of the area or check out Hauloverbeach.org.
