Skimpy Speedos :)

Post by science geek » Sun Nov 11, 2012 2:44 pm

hey everyone, I finally plucked up the currage to go to the sports shop and look for a speedo. the thing is they only had ones with one inch sides and only a couple of brands. the best were puma black with the one inch sides. i liked it but thought it was a bit skimpy, now i wish i had gotten it as it was very cheep costing only £5.

I think i want an adidas one for the pool though can anyone help with the sizing of these should i size up. and is there different suits for swimming laps or will any do?

Thanks for your help in advance. Speedos rule!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since you are buying it in person -- try it on to see which size you like the fit of best

All depends on what feels comfortable on you for doing laps. Speaking for myself, I don't like square-cuts because they chafe my upper thighs. I like as much freedom of leg movement as possible, so the skimpier, the better.

Sporti has a regular brief and a skimpier "euro" cut.

If you are swimming laps in chlorinated water, you might consider a suit that had a liner all around for durability, or a material that is especially sturdy for that same reason.

Sizing up? This can drive you crazy. Depends on manufacturer. In my experience, I can not trust the sizing charts on erogenos, though sizing down from my 'recommended' seems to secure a good fit, but again it varies from one make to another on this site. I find the charts on swimoutlet.com generally to get a good fit. The trouble with sizing up is that you risk some "bagginess" and you'll miss out on the "second skin" feel, and also, the suit will lose its shape faster.

But in the end, it's all about finding what feel comfortable on you for laps.

Just some random ramblings. Hope they're helpful. 8)

Yes, any second layer of fabric, be it just pouch, full front, or front and rear, is 'lining'

Generally the second layer of fabric in the front is referred to as a modesty panel. If the suit is a light color this will keep your junk from being on display. If it is a dark color it serves to conceal your religion. (cut or uncut). If you are wearing a speedo to display your junk and want every detail on display, buy a solid color and remove the panel. (the lighter the color the more you display) If you are buying the suit to swim or sun or just for comfort, I go back to "try it on". Some guys like to go down a couple sizes to make the bulge more obvious.(they are also fond of the cock ring for added push) Some guys upsize so they hang more naturally and movement is possible and obvious when walking or active. If it fits as designed your junk is held in place and not smashed. It is a matter of comfort and your goals in wearing the suit in public. Remember, a white nylon Aussiebum with no lining all wet is the best if your goal is to get laid. It kind of says "I'm easy and ready and a bit desperate"
The only person that can decide if it fits is you. Try them on and see how it feels and if you think you can wear it for a whole day at the beach. While the internet is good to get other guys opinions, yours in the one that matters. (hopefully you are not in the closet over this issue and can get a friend or two to give their input when you model it or them)
My personal opinion on the issue is -- don't think it to death -- put it on and wear it.
