Among other things, Fort Lauderdale is home to the International Swimming Hall of Fame with a major aquatic center attached which is also the municipal public pool. Anything but Speedos is abnormal. You really can't work out in shorts that weigh 10 pounds when wet and restrict movement.

There's a gay section of the beach where Speedos are welcome. I can't remember the exact streets it is in front of. I have worn Speedos when vacationing in Lauderdale everywhere, and there's no real problem, and if for some reason it is a problem, it isn't your problem but other peoples'.

Just south of the city is Dania Beach and an adjoining state park with a gay beach as well.

The swimming pools next to the ISHOF (I'm a member) are called the Fort Lauderdale Aquatic Complex and run by the city. I swim there some times, but haven't in a couple months. Here's their web site.

The gay part of Fort Lauderdale beach is at Sebastian Street, and also at the extreme north end of the beach where the condos start. (Just google maps "Sebastian Street Fort Lauderdale FL") Speedos are cool anywhere on the beach, but most guys wear board shorts outside the gay areas. After the first of june the hotel/guest house rates go way down.

I've never been there but you could check out Haulover Beach, the nude beach in Miami.

It's a beach, a Speedo is a swim suit, why would there be an issue? I guess the question confuses me.
