You will have to excuse me if there is already a thread on this topic, I have searched but I can't seem to find one.
I was wondering if anyone here has used Grindr or is a regular user? Why do you use it and have you had any particular experiences with it (good or bad)?
I've personally had Grindr now for a while, probably about a year. I only go on it when I'm really bored and to be honest I'm not sure what I go on there to look for. If anything, I probably go on there to alleviate my boredom a little bit and chat to people. I don't tend to go on there to 'hook up' with guys or anything...although I have done.
I have met two people on there, both times for sexual reasons. One time was fantastic and the guy was great, we've arranged to meet up more but for lots of reasons haven't really had the chance. The second time was me, alone in my flat, bored out of my mind and probably a bit too drunk - I think it's safe to say that I won't be calling that guy back anytime soon.
I've just got a new phone, new house and haven't really used Grindr since, although I think I may start using it for different reasons. Whereas before I was using it as a tool to alleviate boredom and the occasional fumble - I think I may use it to gain more friends to go surfing and other activities, there's so much to do in my area like surfing, swimming, coasteering, quad biking etc but my friends are lazy as shit! Maybe Grindr can help me find someone who would come with me to do all that? Do you think that's possible? Or do you think everyone on Grindr is just after one thing?
Anyway, I digress. I'm waffling a bit. What are your guys opinions on Grindr?
