Has anyone tried those Aquablade Briefs?

I've never tried them - they look kind of rubbery?

And they are always pretty expensive.

Jace - I'm not too concerned about my 'lap' times hehehe.

Just wondering what they feel like?

I know there is a aquablade brief and I was thinking of trying it.

They have pretty high compression (so no sizing down), which is a nice feeling. They're also VERY smooth. I've never picked one up, because they're quite expensive (as you mentioned).

The more rubbery looking the better for me!

They have a plastic feel to them, don't stretch much, ride nice and low, have a center seam that enhances the butt, and I really like them.

Is that first pic of the tiny black brief a photoshop job? I never thought Speedo made them so low slung and narrow sided outside of Japan. That little suit is even much skimpier than today's typical Speedo Solar briefs.

I had two in black, 30 and 32 waist. Used them for laps. Yes, expensive ... I think I paid $55 each. They were smooth and slick and the material didn't seem to stretch very much Could I tell a difference wearing them? Maybe, but it could have been in my mind that I slid through the water a little easier.

I don't believe it to be photoshopped. I guess it is all in how you wear them. Here are a few more examples:

Ok, so they're intentionally scrunching the waistband lower or even tuck 'n rolling it down to make the suit skimpier with much narrower sides. Which again makes me ask, why doesn't Speedo just make some that small for those that want them that way? There's obviously a demand!

I much prefer skimpier suits that are already cut skimpy instead of do it yourselfing it by bunching the fabric together. Something really appeals to me about it being impossible to make a tiny narrow sided suit any bigger, even if you wanted to, by pulling up on a scrunched down waistband. You step out on the beach in a max 1" narrow sided bikini, that's it, you've committed yourself to rocking that little suit, and there's no turning back! I love that!

I don't think they are scrunched down ... check out the black one. Probably suits not available in the US because we supposedly don't like to wear smaller suits. All are good looking and I am totally jealous.

There are some skimpy suits out there like Joe Snyders. I have several of them.

Wow! What a great selection. Thanks.

My favorite is the yellow & black speedo. Never saw one like that before.

Scott, if that is your collection, I am beyond jealous!

My Aquablade is a regular cut, and being a competition suit, it is a very tight fitting brief and could even pass as a waterpolo suit, but for me, I just keep admiring the smooth slickness of the material, usually out of the water.... ;)
Let's keep it brief.

The photos are not of me but I do have an assortment of Joe Snyders in orange, lemon, black, and turquoise as well as Aquablades in royal, navy, and black. The fit and feel of the aquablades are like nothing else, and the Joe Synders are feather light.

My Aquablade feels tighter than my usual Speedo suits although they are the same size. They are closer-fitting in the water so it does "feel" like I'm gliding through the water more easily although I haven't done any serious testing with a timer.
