Aussiebum Wonderjock question
I think this was covered in a post somewhere but I wanted to ask again..... Who has tried an Aussiebum Booster/Wonderjock in swimwear?? Was it comfortable? Was the boost cool or outrageous? They look okay in the pics on the Aussiebum site.
I have a Clearwater Loose. My package keeps slipping down between my legs no matter what I do.
Also...how much tighter are the regular Aussiebums compared to the Loose ones?? I have a 14 which is a small. I wouldn't want to go any larger but maybe just a littel snugger but not a lot.
Thanks in advance!!!

Hey JJ--
I have 3 pairs-- the storm WJ:
http://www.aussiebum.com/en/swimwear/479/ninja/
The loose Broome:
http://www.aussiebum.com/en/swimwear/800/broome/
and the 1.5 horizon:
http://www.aussiebum.com/en/swimwear/824/horizon/
Basically, the best way I can describe it is very accurate to the picture on the broome slide #4 and the horizon slide #3. It does stay in place--I have only wore mine in the pool since I got them. I was not at the beach this last year, but plan on heading to FL sometime in Feb or March, and may try them out.

Re: Aussiebum Wonderjock question
I have some too, found them pretty comfortable in the pool and also under shorts when running.
Re: Aussiebum Wonderjock question
Hi Justin, I should have seen this threat because I own two items in wonder/boosterjock styles. I have the Squad in both the "Junior" blue style and the "captain" red. I really enjoyed them except that in the ocean there can be an issue with sand collecting in the pouch especially if the surf is really rough as it was when I wore it in S. California.
http://www.aussiebum.com/en/swimwear/1111/junior/
I also recently purchased a Storm "Robotnik" in size Small, which is a size larger than I normally get. I've gained a few pounds from the gym recently so XS is too tight.
http://www.aussiebum.com/en/swimwear/478/robotnik/
I know that this is probably too revealing in terms of being sheer for most beaches but I'm going to Key West soon and I wanted to be a little risque. I hope it goes alright and that I'm not too outlandish!
I would also add that the storm seems to be much stretchier and softer than the Squad and it's cut briefer. I'm a big fan and will probably buy another color.
Finally, yes the pouch helps hold you up. A definite plus!

Re: Aussiebum Wonderjock question
Thanks for your comments and links NS!!! I like all of these. The squad looks awesome wet or dry. I think I'll try one of these. Suits sometimes collect sand in the surf close to shore even without the booster thing.newspeedo wrote:Hi Justin, I should have seen this thread because I own two items in wonder/boosterjock styles. You should be okay in KW. The suits would work great at places for guys like the guest house/resort private pools and on the snorkeling cruises, like the catamaran Blu Q which I think is clothing optional when you get away from land.
I made a couple overnight trips a few years ago and just stayed at a Comfort Inn that had a good pool, didn't cost too much, and had a free breakfast. A couple guys were doing laps in speeds and it was a place for families so I did too. Nobody seemed to notice....
I have to watch my $$$ so I haven't done the upscale guest houses or snorkeling cruises.
Are you driving the keys or flying in? I've only driven it since I live in SoFL.

Re: Aussiebum Wonderjock question
I'm flying down because unlike you I don't live in beautiful Florida. I'm up in cold Connecticut. Driving would be too much time (even if I flew to Miami and drove down).
Anyway, I'm staying at the Alexander's Guest House on recommendation of the NY Times and also a few friends. So yah, I hope the white aBum's will be okay in the private pool there and maybe if I go visit a couple other guest houses (not sure they allow that but I think one of the guest houses has parties for anyone basically).
I'm not sure if I'm going to do a cruise or snorkeling but I figure I might wear swim shorts for that (speedos underneath) just in case the crowd is more decent. I have the shorts below but I think the piping on mine is just yellow rather than orange and neon yellow.

Also, if any members here have been to Key West and have advice for me about where to go, what to expect, types of suits that are acceptable, anything! Just let me know

Scotty knows KW really well. I'm sure he can recommend stuff. Other guys here have gone there.
It is better to fly in if you just want to stay in KW. From Palm Beach here it's four to five hours--over 200 miles. From Miami its 3.5 hours. The road and bridges on the keys have only have two lanes. if someone is slow and backs up traffic or if there's an accident it can take longer. Its a beautiful drive if you have the time. Key West doesn't have very good beaches but people don't go there for the beach.
I'll have to move out of Florida and make a mint. Then I can come back as a tourist and go to the upscale places.
Re: Aussiebum Wonderjock question
Haha thanks for the plug Justin ... but newspeedo and I have been discussing it offline - unfortunately he decided to take someone else instead of me
lol

Re: Aussiebum Wonderjock question
Hey New--Did you ever make it to Florida? If so, How was the trip?
Im on the fence about making a trip to Florida myself in March, I stayed at Surfside last time--the beach was awesome as I was the only one there most of the time.

Re: Aussiebum Wonderjock question
Hey all, I did spend 5 days in Key West last week. The weather was very comfortable with about 80F days and high 60'sF at night. However, because of the time of year, the sun set quite early. Thus for tanning purposes I had to make sure to be out in the sun before 1pm or so.
Anyway, I stayed at a lovely B&B, which is gay-owned and not sleazy like "The Island House". Most of the guys wore board shorts but a few of us wore speedos. I met one good-looking Australian guy who wore the world-famous navy Andrew Christian briefs with the cross on the crotch. I was too embarrassed to ask where he got it, though. I was envious!
I wore my white Storm BJK "robotnik" Aussiebums most of the time. No one seemed to be offended by their sheerness when wet. I also wore the red Squad BJK as well as my red priape suit a little bit. It was a good time.
Key West isn't anything like the rest of Florida. You spend the day biking around the island, tanning, and drinking. Everyone is constantly drinking
.
I didn't really get too many pictures because I thought it would be rude to do so with other people around and the private setting. So I'm sorry for not providing evidence of my travels

Sound like a terrific trip. You did get some good weather. It's cooler now. I think it only got to 72F/22C today.
And you're right...Key West is very different from other places in Florida.
Have a good New Year!
