Thank god the platform/springboard divers are still wearing small briefs.

I was a diver in Japan. We ALWAYS wore suits (mostly by Arena or Mizuno) that they were purposely VERY skimpy, even more so than regular simply to make your body look real streamlined when entering the water from a dive. It really did make a difference in the scores you would receive, and it was all about looks, nothing else.

Compare these Arena suits with what Arena makes for USA,. The look of Japanese Arena and USA Arena is like night and day. Of course the other reason they are more skimpy is that Japanese guys tend to be a lot smaller and way slimmer than American. Way lower body fat! Must be all the sushi LOL!
