Yeah, I thought so too.
Their customer comments indicate the fabric is good quality. For me anyway, this cut and side width is just about perfect. My body type doesn't look as good with 1" sides. I'd wear these on vacation, rather than daily laps in the pool. More in the category of resort wear.
The sides on their "Classic" brief are a little wider than their standard brief. The various prints come in both. I prefer the narrower one.

On their model, I like the slightly narrower standard briefs, and the ass coverage is perfect.
