I know I've brought this up ages ago, but am wondering if we've any new members on here that live in Utah around the Salt Lake City area who are speedo enthusiasts who would like to hang out / go swimming / etc.
Anyone fit the bill?

11 hours away... bit of a stretch. Haha. Apparently there are no speedo lovers in Utah.

SL county here. Yea its conservative but when it comes down to it, say at a gym people don't care. Went swimming mid-morning not too long ago in my speedo and even layed out for a bit in my speedo to dry off - didn't phase anyone. Nobody seeming to really either notice or care that I was in a speedo.

Trust me, it never stops me either. Haha. I only own speedos now. :D Btw, we should talk more, eh?

Actually, while Utah is painfully conservative, it does have a thriving gay community, especially compared to the surrounding states. And we have QUAC. I believe it stands for queer utah aquatics club. I'm seriously considering joining. If you look at their website they welcome pretty much anyone who loves swimming regardless of their ability or even weather they want to compete or just want to improve on their skills. And yes they favor swim briefs over jammers. YEAH!!! Also to hardspeedo, I tried replying to the message you sent, but my laptop kept giving me a mail server error message. I was however able to pull your address with my droid and I sent a message though my yahoo account. If that worked let me know. My yahoo ID is ikbot.

QUAC - Queer Utah Swim Club is the LGBT swim team in salt Lake.

I've been curious about joining QUAK for some time. I guess my only concern is are the practices very crowded. I know I'll be sharing a lane, but with how many people? Also how do you send or respond to a private message? I can't seem to pull this off.

OK, I've exhausted all efforts to respond to private messages. My wife and tech guru tells me it's because we don't have e-mail service through our internet provider. So if you want to communicate with me you need to E-mail me directly at
ikbot@yahoo.com So to hardspeedo, sorry I missed practice, I really want to meet up. Normally I would be up at the lake, but my wife is in the midwest competeing in dog agility and I am stuck here in SLC taking care of the rest of the tribe. I just put up a small pool in our back yard that I am rigging up so that I can swim in place. Would be nice if I could have some others to try it out and see what they think.

I was in SLC for a wedding last summer and was glared at wearing a speedo by the pool (2-3" blue) A Morman family (8 kids) that looked like they had never seen the sun didn't feel I was appropriate and told my friend.(he wanted me to change to a thong so he could watch them all pass out) Got that feeling both times at the pool. My friend said they were all staring because I had a deep dark tan and they were either white or burn red. I never could decide it it was the tan, the speedos or the Jewish Star of David tattoo on my shoulder. Beautiful area and I won't judge by one experience. Next time I am there, I'll be sure to get your advice on where to stay and swim.
