You will have to excuse me if there is already a thread on this topic, I have searched but I can't seem to find one.

I was wondering if anyone here has used Grindr or is a regular user? Why do you use it and have you had any particular experiences with it (good or bad)?

I've personally had Grindr now for a while, probably about a year. I only go on it when I'm really bored and to be honest I'm not sure what I go on there to look for. If anything, I probably go on there to alleviate my boredom a little bit and chat to people. I don't tend to go on there to 'hook up' with guys or anything...although I have done.

I have met two people on there, both times for sexual reasons. One time was fantastic and the guy was great, we've arranged to meet up more but for lots of reasons haven't really had the chance. The second time was me, alone in my flat, bored out of my mind and probably a bit too drunk - I think it's safe to say that I won't be calling that guy back anytime soon.

I've just got a new phone, new house and haven't really used Grindr since, although I think I may start using it for different reasons. Whereas before I was using it as a tool to alleviate boredom and the occasional fumble - I think I may use it to gain more friends to go surfing and other activities, there's so much to do in my area like surfing, swimming, coasteering, quad biking etc but my friends are lazy as shit! Maybe Grindr can help me find someone who would come with me to do all that? Do you think that's possible? Or do you think everyone on Grindr is just after one thing?

Anyway, I digress. I'm waffling a bit. What are your guys opinions on Grindr?

Well, I've seen once a guy using Grindr on his iPhone at the subway. But, since my smartphone runs Windows Mobile 6, not Android or iOS, I can't use it myself. But I think that the premise is interesting: finding someone close to you to hang out with...

Hey man, yeah I downloaded Grindr about a month ago. I also go online when in bored. I haven't met anyone yet but I have had a lot of requests. I am apprehensive to meet up, but I am suppose to meet a guy tomorrow night. He seems like a nice guy so we'll see what happens.

In terms of ur question, I think it's possible to make friends but it seems like most of the guys on Grindr are there for sex. I get a lot of guys straight up asking for sex or just sending a pic of their cock with nothing else. But I'm chatting to another guy at the moment who's 21 and I'm 19 and I could see us being mates.

I guess the majority of people on grindr are using it for sex but you could reason that if you are looking for people to do stuff like surfing with then there must be other people on there thinking the same thing. Also, I'd be up for any of those things :D

I too had it and got bored. I found the searches covered way to big of an area and not much of interest. The one time I tried to connect it turned out to be a "play for pay" guy.

The upfront guys are amusing, I guess there are times when I've been horny as hell and just wanted to ask someone straight up - I guess that's one of the appeals of Grindr. Hope you have luck with your new friend!

I have had Grindr for quite some time now (about three years since my partner and i separated). Yes i have met up several times with a few guys for some random fun, but i have also made quite a few good friends from it too!
It is a good tool to meet people from different walks of life, and everyone has their own reason for being on there whether it be for sex or chats or whatever the case may be.

I'm not entirely sure if its the right place to find a relationship to share my life with, but who knows what can happen.

Anyway, thats my two cents! :-D
