I spotted a pair of these adidas olympic 2012 replica swimmers today and couldn't stop myself buying them!
...But, a bit gutted to try them on and find they are a radically different shape to any other adidas trunks I have
ever tried. They just don't fit at all, the waist is fine but they seem to want to be really really high
What we need is a speedo adjustment and tailoring service :D

Where did you find them?
I've been trying to find the light blue pair Tom Daley wore a year or two back. I think they were Adidas with the British flag embroidered on. Not sure if they were ever available as 'replicas'.
I think they look pretty good myself and wouldn't mind a pair for the pool or surfing. My Billabong pair are beginning to get a bit 'worn' now.

They had them in JJB. not many left though, this was the last 30"
I know the light blue ones you mean, really nice. I would love some of those.
I love the look of these I'm just gutted about the fit since I had to buy without
trying on. Anyway, they're wasted on me do you want to try them BW?

I have a person that makes or customizes suits for me and it has been great. She is a seamstress that works on the costumes in some of the Vegas shows so knows her way around stretch materials and keeping what needs to be covered, covered. I know I am lucky having a Vegas Costumer handy is very lucky and not available to all. I did ask her though about suggestions for others to find the same services. She suggested that you try anyplace that makes costumes -- especially show costumes. They generally have time between shows to do individual jobs. She also suggested that you look for a seamster (a male seamstress) if you aren't comfortable with a woman handling your junk. She said you may find a tailor that can help, but usually they are more into suits, pants and shirts -- but ask, no telling where there were before. She did warn me that lingerie makers, generally only do female things and don't know how to fit the bulge very well. Even if they offer, try for someone more experienced with men.
If you find such a person, cherish them!!! I have had suits I really liked the look but not the fit redone to look and fit even better than imagined. She has taken some regular speedo type suits and cut them down so they are like the Jap suits. She is great! She even has tossed in a Vegas Show Boy costume or two for parties and Halloween. (they didn't work for the stage so were rejected)
With this WWW I have no idea where anyone is, but any fairly large city will probably have someone more than capable to do the work. The question is will they and if they will, what will they charge.
Good Luck! tell us if you are successful!

Thanks for the offer but I'll be fine for now, I think. Maybe if I stumble upon them somewhere I'll try them on - I'm not sure whether I'm a 30" or 32" nowadays!

Thanks, tannedbum that's really good advice and it sounds like you have a very sweet setup. I suppose the materials are similar to dancewear, I like the idea of a fitting session with a seamster but It might be too much fun! ...I will investigate though :D Thanks

Actually, most reasonable sized cities have a seamstress who specializes in lycra for ballet and exercise. Perth has at least 6. To lower the waistline on your suit, they would simply cut an inch or so at the crotch seam and resew the seam. Contact one locally and see if they are interested. My seamstress also makes great copies with the fitting modifications I require and a great rage of lycra fabrics.
Cheers,
