Whats Your First Thought?

When you are out at the beach, waterpark etc. what is your first thought when you see a guy in a speedo? Does a speedo instantly make someone gay?
Secondly, how many of you guys are gay or bi/straight?

Im bi.
As for the other question, there are a number of ways to answer it. Around Toronto, i'd say for a young guy my age....early 20s.... its kinda unusual to wear a speedo. Most guys my age who do wear one often tend to be new to the country.... say europeans where they were acustomed to wearing one all the time. However, even then, its usually the older europeans who dont change, most of the yonger guys start wearing the shorts when they come here. In my mind if i see one, the guy has either worn this all his life and feels nothing unusual about it, or he just likes speedos and has the balls to wear them in public without feeling embarased about it.
Also think of it this way. I personally like wearing speedos cause u get a better tan in them, they are more comfortable, and they look more sexier. These are the exact same things a guy of ANY sexual orientation could be interested in. And its no secret... a lot of girls are turned on by guys in speedos, so if you ask me, it makes sense for str8 guys to wear them! lol
And the 2nd part. It also really depends how ppl are gonna view speedos from one place to another. Some places i was in europe, NOT wearing a speedo for a guy my age would be considered "gay" and would get you labaled as a girl. So yeah... with that in mind, it could very well be that other places in North America also have different views on the subject.

Just because you find guys wearing Speedos to be a turn on doesn’t necessarily mean you are in fact Gay.
The arousal caused by viewing men (or women) in skimpy clothing is what psychologists refer to as a “Fetishâ€

My real first thought is, if I am lucky, that guy is hott and has a nice bulge. If I am not lucky then I usually think I would like to know what kind they are. I do not think that a speedo makes them gay. I mean they are comfortable and look great. Looking great and feeling great in something is good for any person no matter what their sexual preference. On the other hand 80% of the men I meet who wear them whether they are models or not are at least bi or curious.
I personally love to wear speedos because they are comfortable and look great. The tan lines are hott and guys and girls seem to like the look of me in them. However I have days when I just love to be nude all the time so "commando" as it is said is how I like to go also.
For your last question I consider myself bi as I have slept with a couple women and enjoy a woman every once and a while, usually in a 3-way. I however am more gay than str8 because I would take a nice hard cock full of cum over anything a woman has to offer anyday!!! :D

hey everybody. Im 19 years old. I currently live in Florida and yes I do wear speedos. I am straight and have a girlfriend who absolutely loves me in my speedos. I dont have the best body but I am working hard on it. I wear them whenever I go to the beach or go scuba diving.

Erik - Welcome to the board! And you proved my point! lol
Oh and scuba diving is awesome! I tried it for first time in italy this year, but now i wanna go through all the certification and stuff so I can do more of it on my own and in deeper waters.
Im jealous of ppl who live by the sea or ocean! The lakes kinda suck...

hey.
well, whenever i see a guy in speedos, they get the once over. while i don't assume the guy is gay... if hes hot there is usually some serious hoping going on in my head, lol.
so, incease you hadn't noticed, i am gay.
welcome to the boards though, nice to see a guy who isn't afraid of a north american label and who uses his brain.

Thanks everybody for your replies so far. I just cant understand why here in America, the place where everyone is suppose to be accepted for who there are, people are criticized more than ever based on what they wear.

Erik - Its the same in Canada for many things. There is this idea that we are living in a free society but in reality there are still these politically correct constraints that control what everyone does and thinks.
It's wierd. Why are speedos such a taboo? An avg person might say that the they expose the male body too much. But then north america is so completely driven by sex.... fashion, music videos, teens doing it at yonger age... you get the idea. But then somehow Speedos are inappropriate for an avg person... its just a mindset that became a social norm over time.
I was happy to see in many parts of europe the lack of north american fashion trends. It kinda gives you hope that not every kid is gonna be an eminem wannabe.
I'd have a lot more to say, but i wont, i'm prob putting ppl to sleep. And after all, it's a speedo forum
lol

I wear the red speedos to the public beach. However, it's not a busy place and full of rednecks and people I may never see again. So, that's easy. It was also easy wearing them to Cancun and my GF/SO/FWB gave me so much crap about bringing them and then she sees that everyone is wearing them. "But, it makes old guys look gross and their balls hang to the ground" she says. I agree, and I suggest that the ball-hanging guys have owned their suits for an average of 27 years.
Anyway, several times I've gotten the nerve to wear the dark blue speedos (very conservative) amongst friends. Especially after reading this board for a while, I feel that life is short and I'm gonna be comfortable in the pool and I take part in an activity where people are nearly naked anyway (drum & bugle corps). Two weeks ago I did this amongst 10 people... and the first reaction was "oh my God, Greg's kids are in the pool, cover their eyes." I don't think kids look at everything sexually like adults do, so that doesn't bother me. Also, I think my friends were just giving me crap and I do crazy things all the time, so popping out in speedos was just one more thing. Nice that I didn't have to worry about boardies/trunks getting cold on my legs as I exited the pool (I hate that) and Nichole did say I looked hot in them. This was also a "grooming exercise" in which I anesthetise everyone in preparation for this pool party...
The color guard for the group I am in (see
http://www.corpsvets.org) threw a big pool party last weekend and I intended to show off my swimwear and possibly coax a few of the gay guys into a little playtime. The event was even held at a beautiful house of a gay couple. Shoulda done it, but spent the evening in soccer shorts and not as much time in pool as I expected. Last year at this event, everyone got naked as the eve went on (I had left!) and I expected that this year... but nothing happens (just to spite me because I stayed late, I'm sure).
Should also point out that I'm bi but mainly because the ex-GF likes to do it and I'm on a dry spell with the guys. Really diggin this speedo board and I've got a sweet, but moderately fuzzy speedo tan. Someone joked about wearing shorts lower and lower and showing off your tanline, but this makes your tanline slide down and this isn't necessarily a bad thing. At weekend practices with the corps, it's shirtless for 95% of the guys 95% of the time and darnit if the elastic in my shorts gives a little when sweaty and those shorts creep down. That's my story, anyway. These are probably more issues for a "exhibitionist" message board but it's somewhat speedo related.
Happy swimming! Enjoy it!
Edit: and more on topic, "What's your first thought?" A few visits to the beach ago, there was a large rowing regatta going on. I decided to go through with speedo time even though the place was packed! There were lots of families with kids from all over the country. I'm there in the red suit and I get in the water every now and then. I'm in the water up to my neck, and these grade-school kids maybe 10 years old are looking at me. I finally hear them say "are you a lifeguard?" I guess that was their first thought when they see someone in Speedos. Hahaha, I laughed, but then I answered, "no, are you drowning?" Luckily they weren't.

Erik nice to see you here and welcome. On a different note, as a straight guy I just wondered if you have been through this site what you think about the things we talk about or show? I mean if they are not terrible or mean things would care to share them. I just wonder what a straight person thinks of this. I hope no one else on here cares that I am asking this, but it is just a question I have and I can not get an answer without asking it. Either way glad to see you here Erik and to know that you and your gf enjoy speedos.
"life is short and I'm gonna be comfortable" This is so true, like is too short to hide how we want to dress and be comfortable. If the public has a problem with it then screw em. At least that is my attitude on it. But really I feel I have a great fashion sense and I want to show it, hopefully others like it to!
I hope everyone is okay with what I have written, if your not I am sure you will let me know.

Bigjay, i dont have a problem at all with you asking this question. I think this site is a great place for people who appreciate speedos to come and share their opinions. I dont mind if people talk about gay/bi/straight issues here, its their right. I am not one to judge. If i disagree with something, i will state my argument and keep going. The stories are cool. Anybody that can write stories like the ones on this board, I admire. I am not good at writing stories. The pictures, hey those are fine too. If they show gay sex or a guy showing his dick, ok cool, I keep going. I look at the pictures to get ideas of what speedos look good and which dont. If there are any more questions, dont be afraid to ask, i wont take offense.
