Getting my parents used to the speedos lol

So yeah, as some of you might know, recently i went on a euro trip where the first 3.5 weeks i spend by myself and then for the last 2 weeks i joined my mom in ukraine.

I had planned to wear speedos while i was gonna be there b4 i even got there. When i went to buy some at my local store here in Canada where i saw them b4, ALL were gone except like a size 36.... and im a 30 lol. So that wasnt gonna work.

I decided i was gonna get some when i got to europe if i still felt like it. While i was getting some adidas shoes there in an adidas store, the swim briefs caught my eye. So i ended up getting them (the ones u can see in my pics) and the shoes. And what worked out good was that buying the speedos allowed my to get a tax refund... so it was a win-win situation!

So my first few times when i wore them I was completely on my own.... i went tanning in spain and italy, then scuba diving in italy where they were useful, and canyoning in the swiss alps where again i had to put on a wet suit so i used them underneath. Finally i got to ukraine, my motherland. I was born near the Black sea, which is extremely beautiful and great for swimming, so going to the beach at least once was a must.

My first trek to the beach was with my aunt. I deicded i was gonna wear my swim briefs underneath the board shorts so that I could decide which id swim in once i was there. When i got there, 90% of guys were either wearing swim briefs or those square cut type. So without hesitation my board shorts came off. Meanwhile, dont forget, my mom never even knew i had bought the adidas briefs for myself. So on my mind, the thought was, what i was gonna do once i got home.

While at the beach my aunt was constantly asking to take a pic of me by the waves. In my mind it wasnt gonna be a good idea.... sooner or later the pic would have circulated around my whole family. To those who live still in ukraine, it would have been nothing out of the ordinary, but to my other family members in North America, it might of raised a few eye brows. So i managed to delay the picture taking process until i was again fully clothed!

That night when i got home, i wanted to wash the briefs since i baby them. I washed them and then put up to dry in the front yard where surely my mom must of seen them. She never asked me a single question about them, and i never gave them much attention.

THe next day, me, my mom, and my cousin were going to the beach again. I took my board shorts with me again just in case as well as the adidas. When i got there, i decided to stick to the adidas, surely since she saw them the day b4 hanging to dry, if i didnt wear them now it would have been even more awckward. So i did. Before that though, i had to put them on. And being in ukraine.... you could say its still a bit uncivilized, change rooms and washrooms are hard to come by.

So my cousin and I headed for the bushes. Once we were just barely in, he told me "change". I took the towel for him to hold it for me. He never offered. About 2 meters from where i changed was a road where a car had just changed. So i changed with my ass facing my cousin lol.... the only thing giving me the slightest cover was a tshirt, but it wasnt really long. So i changed there and off we went to the beach. When i got there my mom was still not asking me a thing about my new swim wear. Finally, after i had gone for a swim and gotten out, she asked me where i bought them. I replied "in italy for scuba diving" and no more questions were asked again :P

So that was my "coming out" to my mom you could say. The funniest thing of the day was that my cousin who live in ukraine and normally wears speedos, decided that day to wear shorts, so it was ironic.

lol I hope no one was bored reading, orginally i was gonna tell how it went with my dad in this same message. But i ended up typing more than expected. So if this is of any interest to an1, i will type it up in a new message!

Alex

PS, if others wanna share any of their "speedo coming out" expereinces with freinds, family, etc. that would be cool lol. Cause i still havent went through the process with my freinds back here in NA.

Mom never liked me wearing stretch nylon briefs and later Speedos. Seems that she didn't want visible proof her little boy was growing up. One time I asked my dad if he thought my trunks were "ok" and he said they were fine.

One conversation with mom was that I should wear (can't remember what she said but she meant jock) something with my trunks. Said I was... she said I needed a smaller size... said it was a small... conversation ended and I went off to college that fall where I bought my first 100% nylon tricot Speedoâ„¢. Definitely I then needed a small swimmer supporter.

I feel your pain SpeedoMike! :( My mum hated the idea of other people seeing the "bulge" in my swimwear.
