I actually saw a colour advert in a local newspaper for an airport bus service and it showed a family at the beach and the guy was wearing speedos!
Have also noticed a lot of young (to me!) guys wearing shorts that are at least mid thigh and sometimes even shorter. The tide is turning!

Great mainstream backup for what we all have been anecdotally noticing for a while now, and to that I say hallelujah! 
it’s especially see-able in how much shorter mainstream trunks are getting, some are nearly squarecut length now, and getting more snug fitting too on the thighs. Trending positive!

Good to see CNN reporting important news again.
Supporting evidence:
I was at my sister's pool over the weekend, and my brother-in-law rolled out of the house with an Italian swim brief on! I had no idea that kind of thing was even on his radar; he's just your typical straight suburban guy with a dad-bod. My sister said he had always wanted a swim brief, so she bought him one. Guys just need some encouragement!
Of course, I was caught by surprise and only had some baggy trunks with me. But I'll know what to bring next time!

This is great news; hopefully more guys will start leaving those cumbersome shorts behind. I still don't get why a speedo would be 'controversial', aside from some puritanical thing where we're supposed to pretend that men are like Ken dolls.

I almost always wear a speedo under baggy trunks. Both to be ready to lose the trunks, and so I don't have to worry about embarrassing bulges occurring.

I've seen similar news bites on various outlets, although some have been framed in a less than positive light. "Speedos are in again? Eww..." Portly 60yo reporters will just have to deal...and maybe be inspired to get in a little better shape!

Thanks for sharing that good news. On my last two cruises out of Florida, I saw a few guys in speedos where I had not in the past. So it may be coming back a bit.
