Speedos and bikinis in The Med: then and now

Currently sat on a beach in Crete, in my speedos, obviously, looking around at my fellow sunbathers and remembering the good old days.

In the ‘70s guys wore speedos happily. Also girls routinely went topless, although wore full bottom briefs.

Now, no one wears speedos, girls wear thong bikinis with full buttock exposure (no complaints from me!) but no one is topless anymore.

And another thing--what is with girls wearing their bottoms so high? They're constantly yanking on the sides to keep them up, because Heaven forbid they slip below their rib cage. I loved the look from 15 years ago when they were wearing bottoms as low as possible. Beach volleyball players still wear them low because that's the practical way when you're actually DOING something besides trying to look like a Kardashian...

Yes, I absolutely agree!

I do not understand this fixation with high waisted anything. Jeans look silly when they are worn that high. Swimwear likewise looks goofy to me when it is worn up at the navel.
