New Speedo Designs
Speedo has introduced new designs. It looks like they are really trying to expand their brand into the fashion market instead of just focusing on recreation. Speedo has had patterns/designs in the past, but these definitely look more beach goer styles than I've seen before. Go Speedo!

Re: New Speedo Designs
I'm sure Speedo is a big ship to steer, but they really have been found lacking with the smaller and the more boutique companies developing better cuts, better designs and who have better community engagement. It would be interesting to see what type of market share Speedo have had over the years and what they are now. Incredible when the entire market is generically known by their brand name. Hopefully they innovate rather than continue following, banana designs were done a long time ago.

Is it just me or does that blue and yellow speedo resolve give the model a much more pronounced vpl than any of the other suits?

Maybe but it doesn’t otherwise appear to be the most exciting design!Scottiebum wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2020 2:51 pmMaybe he just found it more 'exciting' to wear!Latestarter wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2020 11:04 amIs it just me or does that blue and yellow speedo resolve give the model a much more pronounced vpl than any of the other suits?![]()

Had to go searching for the resolve. It didn't just pop out to me. Found it toward the bottom and now that you mention it there's a bit of a contour/shadow going on ...Latestarter wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2020 11:04 amIs it just me or does that blue and yellow speedo resolve give the model a much more pronounced vpl than any of the other suits?

I found the solar 1" designs more eye-catching. The cut is sexier than anything I've seen Speedo do in the past

It's about time they had more colour. But, then again, people who sit by pools in their latest flashy purchase might not be their core market. (Versus people who actually swim laps in pools and worry about utility)....:::sam:::... wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2020 6:42 amI'm sure Speedo is a big ship to steer, but they really have been found lacking with the smaller and the more boutique companies developing better cuts, better designs and who have better community engagement. True, I don't really see a large proportion of lap swimmers or competitive swimmers that wear Speedo either, but thats not to say they arent still a player in the speedo market.blueflinch wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 9:41 pmIt's about time they had more colour. Speedo USA's website has the pattern suits on sale right now for a few bucks cheaper. The more you buy, the bigger the discount gets.

Re: New Speedo Designs
Are they wearing speedos, but not Speedo-brand speedos? I have always found Speedo-brand speedos a bit weird, fabric-wise. Not very stretchy. Stiffer than other suits. Perhaps that puts other people off as well?...:::sam:::... wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 4:53 amTrue, I don't really see a large proportion of lap swimmers or competitive swimmers that wear Speedo either, but thats not to say they arent still a player in the speedo market.

Re: New Speedo Designs
It's been a few years since swimoutlet.com had a speedo brand suit I had to order. My last three have been Turbo brand.
Not that I've needed new suits, ever since Speedo came out with Endurance fabric, and Dolphin with Chloroban, my suits don't wear out and fall apart any more. I just like a new look every now and then.
There wasn't any suit in that collection I have to have. I wish they'd come out with some nostalgic patterns. I want another stars and stripes suit like Mark Spitz made famous in 1972.

Yeap thats right, oldies are more likely to have speedo brand speedos, but other than that most are wearing other brands like Arena, TYR maybe Finis for high end suits and also funky trunks, budgy smuggler and Yingfa for the girls. In the towns, the shops probably influence what people wear a fair bit too.blueflinch wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2020 6:57 amAre they wearing speedos, but not Speedo-brand speedos? I don't like the speedo endurance material either. Its comfort and fit aren't all that good for me.

Yup, speedo endurance fabric is ghastly. It's not the silky-smooth speedo feel one grows up with, and associates with the beloved brief-style swimwear. What were they thinking?...:::sam:::... wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2020 5:14 amI don't like the speedo endurance material either. Its comfort and fit aren't all that good for me.

Has anyone tried the endurance10? Endurance and Endurance+ were damned awful, no real stretch and felt....urgh against the skinblueflinch wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2020 2:39 pmYup, speedo endurance fabric is ghastly. personally rather have the clingy fit of nylon/lycra aka polyamide/elastane and replace as needed than suffer endurance...which also doesn't seem to "breathe" like nylon/lycra does...
