Sex scandal at nude beach in Oz

Here in Oz, in Byron Bay, there's a nude beach. Locals want council to shut nude beach down. Apparently, it's attracting sex pests. And it's not gays either. It's swingers, group sex, people filming porn, etc.
Apparently, the beach is too far away from built-up areas and that attracts miscreants. Nude visitors no longer feel safe.
I've visited this area once with a friend, a few years ago, and there was no disturbing activity. And, yes, my friend and I did wear speedos. I saw a topless girl and a naked girl - the only time in my life I've see half-dressed women up close.
Council is keeping the nude beach nude for the time being, but there's angry write-ups in the paper.
Sad that bad behaviour (or indiscreet bad behaviour) leads to loss of freedom for people who do the right thing!
Almost forgot to mention - apparently, all the "naughty people" arrive in cars with Queensland number plates. I'm a Queenslander - apparently, we're all driving across the border to the next state (New South Wales) to be naughty. Fucking unbelievable! Then again, I wouldn't put anything past Queenslanders!
