Aruba Wrap Up

I am back from my trip to Aruba. We stayed at the Marriott on Palm beach which was fantastic. I did not see as many speedos as I thought there would be, however I definitely wasn't the only one. I saw a lot of older guys wearing 4-5" speedos. They weren't squarecuts, but more like the Brazilian style suits. I also saw some brightly colored orange speedos on a couple of guys there.

After a long day of travel and checking in, we swung by to pool and I wore my Tyr racer. The next morning, we went to the beach and I wore my Euro Sporti which as I mentioned in an earlier post, caused great discomfort. I was forced to change into my black Adidas 3-stripe and eventually into my Speedo Shoreline squarecut. The next day, I wore my Turbo Skull water polo suit which I also ended up changing after a few hours because that felt too snug after the initial discomfort I felt on day 1. I changed to my navy 1" Speedo Shoreline brief and wore that the rest of the day. My wife told me to stop wearing the speedo suits if it is causing me so much discomfort. I told her that it was just a minor setback and would wear a more comfortable brief the next day. The following day, I played it safe and wore my Tyr racer again with no issues. As much as I wanted to wear my Aussiebum WJ, I didn't want to risk it. I never really had this many issues before with smaller suits, but then again it's been awhile since I've worn a speedo for more than 2-3 hours at a time.

My final hurrah was taking a morning swim at the pool before our trip home. I pulled out my Aussiebum Classic 1.5 in Azure blue with white logo and wore that swimming. I wish I had worn that at the beach...it felt great! My wife thought it was too showy, but after taking it for a test run in the pool, I think it would have been fine.

All it all, it was a great trip and I have a nice speedo tanline to prove it!

Shadow,

Thanks for the update on Aruba mate. I do find the Turbo and AussieBum Wonderjock get uncomfortable if I wear them for too long - just not very much give.

Last northern summer I went out to Lake Powell with Kip and a bunch of guys on a house boat. Wore speedos 100% of the time and constantly in and out of the water. I found the nylon speedos (AussieBum and Corka) gave me a rash on my under carriage. I didn't have that problem with my lycra speedos - I wonder if it was being wet they aren't as taught?

From that trip my speedo tan was perhaps the best it has ever been - hahaha.
