I wear both. If all other criteria were equal, I'd always wear a thong! But every situation is different with different rules, so a speedo is the second (and more frequent) choice of swimwear. I will don a swim thong whenever possible though!!

Btw, white is one of my favorite colors. It work on pretty much every skin tone!

Speaking from a straight guys perspective, in my opinion, you have to have the right type of ass to look good in a thong. The guy in the pic with his rock hard glutes will look good in just about anything. But I have seen some pics of guys in thongs (have to say I have never seen a guy in person in a thong) that I really wish afterward I could get that picture out of my mind. So more power to anyone who wants to wear one, but I think some guys are better off sticking to speedos if they are trying to look their best. Just my two cents, take it for what it is worth (not much!)

Either is good, providing the fit/style compliment the person wearing it.

I try not to judge what looks "best" between speedos and thongs, because then, would I not come off as being as judgmental as the speedo haters are? I just feel that anyone should wear whatever they feel like wearing, and I don't really care how they look. That being said, I didn't always think very positively about thongs, but in the past few years, I've come to be a big fan of them. I think they're as awesome as speedos in the right context. And don't forget bikini-cut suits also, which happen to be my personal favorite, still. It's all good!

BTW, I'm expressing these thoughts as a straight guy who has just the normal average built guy in mind. The pictures at the top of the huge body-builder type... not really my thing. Looks good in anything he wants, but as a hopelessly "average" guy, I just don't identify with someone that massively bulked out.

I think guys look sexier in speedo. When I pull them off him I will see the rest!

I love Speedos ... but in the right situation, thongs can be pretty hot too. Nothing like seeing a full pouch and those strings wrapping around the waist and running down between a nice pair of cheeks!

Like both & think it is up to a persons confidence Probably a speedo or brief is more faltering on an average guy since not everyone has great glutes The few times i have worn a thong it has been in a secluded area & with a Brazilian back which is best for me I do have a white thong which I wear under some trunks that have no liner

Gotta admit I'm not a big thong fan, even though I own some thong underwear. The one time I've seen guys on a beach in thongs I thought, what's the point? Might as well go nude. However, I'm finding I like to wear a fundoshi, which has the same coverage as a thong. Not sure I'd wear it on the beach, and definitely not to the pool. My wife just thinks it's weird. I'll stick to speedos for swimming and beaching.

I wear thongs almost exclusively as my daily underwear style. I just find them extremely comfortable.

I understand your comment of "what's the point. Might as well go nude." Thongs are legal on the majority of beaches whereas nude beaches are much more limited.

So the point of a thong on most beaches is to be as nude as possible but not getting arrested! But if someone were to wear a thong on a nude beach, then yeah, totally agree! What's the point?!?! Unless they just really love the V tan line.

I have a couple Y-back thongs from 2Xist that are underwear and really comfortable. I have a couple swim thongs I bought just to see what they're like. They look okay (I have a small butt) and are really comfortable, but I don't know where to wear them. I don't have my own pool. Could wear them at a nude beach, I suppose, but then you'd be overdressed.

I wore a thong to the beach everyday when I was in San Juan, PR about 5-6 weeks ago. No issues whatsoever. Being nude is illegal but thongs are allowed. I choose my swimwear based on the local laws. If I can go nude, great! If I can't, then a thong. If it's a conservative area, I'll wear a very small swim brief. The tinier the better!!
