Hows this for a TBT!

Found an old but still new pair of aussiebums that I had lost and forgotten about. Apparently I became less and less worried about how transparent they got as they faded in the pool.

The school speedos didn't seem to have that problem.

Oh wow, this is not me, but this is so what they looked like when they either wore out or were at their best. One of the pairs that I have also had the liner cut out like this, the middle pair, got the odd funny look at the town pool with that pair.

Were they all the same color at one point? It looks like some of them might have been ice blue? Do you not get funny looks getting out of the pool and having people be able to see right through them?

Sure were, they were all the same colour as the first pair. The pool used to fade them pretty quickly. They would go from new to that in a bit over a term. I've never had any ice blue ones, im guessing they fade to transparent!

I did get a funny look with the ones that had the liner cut out, but not that I noticed with the others, prob because only the back becomes see through.

Well, if there was ever another guy's pool I wanted to be in, it is yours Sam.....oh my freaking dude..... your collection is fantastic, and the potential seeing you in them, well dude, you got me rather excited......

So I put them on and OMG, i had no idea they were that see through!!! More than what the photos show, the lighter ones seemed almost transparent.

The water polo player, it would have been like he had nothing on at all.... I like that!

TBT, Throwback thursday, even if it wasnt...

I wish I had enough confidence to be able to wear those to the pool like that. I would probably be like you were originally and be replacing them at the first sign of fading. I can see that those were all royal blue, but what are your experience with other colors? I wonder how red or black would stand up.

Yeah ... I had a couple favorite suits that were totally bleached out and almost paper-thin from the pool. They were pricey Japanese Speedos and I couldn't part with them. Wore them until I feared that they would just disintegrate or rip open while in the pool ... not something I wanted to happen to me!

I saw a guys rip open all the way down his ass crack once when he was doing a tumble turn. He played it pretty well - finished his length and then got out and casually strolled to the changing room!

2 times it happened to me that my speedos ripped out after using a waterslide. Being a tribute of too much braking with the ass But it wasn't that worst case to end up. I went on regularly. Only a few other people ever noticed that wardrobe-malfunction and nobody complained.

This is a 100% all nylon Tyr 4" Royal Blue suit that saw lots of laps. Its kinda lilac now.

It is Throwback Thursday! They fade like the nylon Aussiebums! TYR look a lot more durable though.

Yes, heavier material, double lined, heavier stitching.

But, like those Aussiebums, it dries LOTS faster than lycra suits.
