UDERWEAR AT THE BEACH OR POOL

In the last couple of years in my travels I have seen a surprising number of guys wearing underwear at pools & beaches in Europe & Mexico & the US which I find strange These are not the tightly whites but a very colourful type of underwear made from cotton & synthetics that extenuate the male form I find this very strange since cotton becomes very baggy when wet & remains wet for a long time & not very masculine in my opinion Is this a new male fashion ?? Bathing suits have been for a number of years been made of synthetics or silk due the fit & the water soaking problem & retaining their shape What is happening or am I just running into this new fashion When the wearers come out of the water it not very flattering Like to hear your comments When speedos are becoming scarcer on the beach or pools what is happening ??

I have enoticed that for a few years now. For some reason wearing boxers under 3r the board shorts is some sort of fashion statement. I dont get it, either, just like the baggy pants showing underwear. Maybe its just an age thing, but it is still pretty stupid.

Look, what really happens is that our animal instinct dictates that when you go to the water you have to wear the minimal clothes to get comfortable.

We're mammals, we born naked. And not everyone has access to a proper swimsuit.

In my country, a lot of boys uses microfiber stretch boxers to swim or hang around the waterpark or the beach, maybe they dont have the money to spend on a speedo or they assume that all briefs are the same thing and can be used in either way. As undies & to take a sunbath.

Plus: speedo briefs are very hard to get nowadays.

I remember getting to the beach with my school friends just with a bikini brief made from natural cotton. There was no time to grab my speedo. We had the gratest time.

It always looks a little odd I agree as the cotton sags, but I'd rather that than not be able to swim at all! Otherwise you'd be wearing speedos all the time just in case (which may be no bad thing!)

@papycartena That's a great explanation! I think sometimes we forget that not everyone has the financial benefit of living in a country with higher wages than others. I know I get caught in that sometimes. I personally think microfiber boxers/trunks/briefs are perfectly acceptable. They're damn close to spandex! There have been a couple times that I've swam in underwear. Once as a teen on a rooftop pool while vacationing in Barcelona (my mom didn't know and I snuck to the pool and swam in Jockey cotton bikini briefs). The other time was just a couple years ago in Maui. I was there on a sales incentive trip with some colleagues. After a night of drinking, we jumped in the ocean. I ended up in a white cocksox thong, in front of coworkers!!!!!!, and walked back to my room, passing an outside hotel restaurant with quite a few people, wearing only my soaked underwear and flip flops, carrying my clothes. At the end of the day, no one cared that it was underwear and not swimwear, and we all had a good laugh! I'm sure they were shocked at the sight of someone they knew wearing a thong. But I ended up with one hell of a fun story to reminisce on!
