Year of the Speedo?

This was a post from a cool tumblr called "surfbriefs" ...
"2015: Year of the Speedo
When I first started this blog a few years ago, images of guys surfing in speedos were hard to come by. A number of surfing blogs claimed that speedos weren’t practical (even though male surfers before the 1960’s wore briefs, and women have always found it practical to surf in bikinis). But I knew that it was a thing, and that it could be more of a thing. So I started collecting pictures and posting them to show the world that yes, men surf in speedos (and it’s really hot). Most of my earliest content came from fashion photoshoots, professional lifesavers, and vintage photography.
In the last year or so, I’ve been able to find a lot more guys surfing in briefs. I’m not sure if it’s just that access to Instagram and other social media networks has generated more images, or if speedos themselves are finally making a comeback from the mid-twentieth century, or both, but it’s official: surfing in briefs is totally a thing, for both gay and straight men. (especially in Brazil, Australia, and the U.S.)
I just wanted to celebrate that!"

So anybody else notice an uptick in speedos at the beach?
