Hey guys,
I was trying to find a good looking Sunga or brazilian style brief (like the ones the guys actually wear in brazil ) online with little luck. I like the brief look with the looser front. ANY idea where to fond one?
Thanks

Thanks. I like the speedo but they are somewhat constricting. I feel like the sunga has a more relaxed, manlier look that would probable be more easily accepted at my local beaches. Especially with the square cut briefs coming back in style.

I see a lot of knock off sunga's online but it seems only the true brazilian made ones have the look I'm gong for.

Would be a damn shame if you stopped wearing the smaller briefs just because all the moronic shit heads on the beach are wearing knee length pants. If "too constricting" is the main thing and you need more room, maybe give a loose front Aussiebum or similar type suits a try?

But to answer your question, yes, a sunga would look great on you because you have a muscular physique. Sungas and square cuts look best on muscular or beefier guys, not skinny guys.

Yup ncstr8... you'd look great in a sunga.

I have a couple from cariocawear. I'm partial to the low rise for my body type... the classic might be more what you're after for truer brazilian style.

Gotta say, they are the most comfortable suits I own. They got the cut right... loose up front, but not "wardrobe malfunction" loose. Just wish they would stock more in xs and cut their prices in half! Good quality though.

Thanks guys,
I like the sunga due to the roomier front. A speedo smashes my junk a bit. Plus, I don't want to educate anyone's children at the beach.
I think the sunga looks manly while still being sporty and minimal.
my wife said she doesn't care either way. Lol

Plus, the square briefs are making a comeback. I always see guys wearing them at the beach. Especially young military guys.

Try Amazon or 6pm.com. They have been running sales all summer. Brands to look for: Parke & Ronen, Mr. Turk, Diesel and possibly 2xist .

I have 3 pairs of Mr. Turk suits. One is Sorrento sq cut & patterned. Mr. Turk makes his suits from a very unique material. It's not your standard lycra but more of a cloth look. It's very cool and dries just as quick and does not show VPL (visual penis line). Trina Turk, is his wife is a major designer and you can actually get matching suits with your wife (my wife wears Trina Turk which is how I found out about the brand but my wife's suit pattern is too bold for my taste to match). Price changes daily on Amazon for Turk suits and after so many suits are sold, the prices go up. I purchased a Turk suit for $30 which now sells for $110. Turk sizes are true - do not size up and if you are middle size, go smaller. My second pair of Turks are 2" in shorts that are more like board shorts but the material is very fitted. They fit like a sq cut suit & very short but snap in the front. I wear them to events where families are around or at the water park where I don't want to draw attention. I also have a pair of Turk swim briefs in black. They fit great, low but not too low and the sides are not too high that the glutes hang out or ride up my butt as many European suits do for me and, they also don't make a hanging hammock in the front which many suits do to me too. I am a size 29 waist so I purchased Small in the Sorrento & Brief but a size 28 in the tight board shorts style.

Parke & Ronen also have great suits too and are made from a very thick lycra material. They are double lined which helps with the VPL. I like my suits fitted but I don't want people to be able to see that I am cut (or not). Amazon is a Parke & Ronen reseller as is Nordstrom. As the summer goes on, prices go down (they just had a sale on a bunch of sunga and sq cut suits). You will read that folks say to size down with these suits but I purchased a medium sq cut and it was too big (I am 5'6", 130 lbs). While the medium fit well at the waist & had no VPL, they were loose and you could see how I was hanging. Again, not my style so I went with a size small and you could only see my junk as a flat fitted pouch and no distinction to which way I was hanging or VPL.

Black Deisel Aloha suit is my other and are also good. They are thick material and fit well. They do stretch a little as you wear them so again, I would not size up. I have a pair and been wearing them in the pool and I definitely can tell they are looser now. They get great reviews and I really like them but note that they stretch a little.

2ist is the third brand. I have seen and touched the suits at a store before and I have seen them for decent price on Amazon. I personally don't like the front seam that forms a pouch. While I wear their underwear for this pouch reason, I don't want it in a swim suit because I feel it draws attention to my junk hanging...

And as reference, I swim laps in a Speedo 1" solar, size 30. None of the suits above in a size 30 or 'Small' fits as tight as my Speedo Solar. My Solar suit is way tighter and a total junk scruncher (which is what I want when I am swimming laps at the gym). I get what you mean by wanting a suit that is slightly looser, less revealing but still flattering - especially at the beach.

Hope this helps...

Ca-Rio-Ca runs sales every few months. Right now they have a few blue, and an orange Sunga on sale for $30.

LUPO also has some traditional suits.
