How to get a nice tan?

When I see the pictures of some guys on this forum I will become a bit jealous, become they have such a nice tan.
If I try to get a nice tan, I have to use suntan oil because otherwise I would get a very bad sunburn.
What are your tricks and advices for me to get a very nice tan, so that the shape of my Speedo is visible when I am naked?

For me at least, it's usually a matter of trying not to get burnt! If it feels like you're about to get burnt, then you are already burnt!
I find that by swimming in outside pools while the sun isn't biting is enough. Just getting a little bit of sun regularly seems to brown you up with getting burnt, sore and having your skin peel off. I also always put sunscreen on my face. I actually watch the UV index during the day pretty closely, and stay out of the high UV light times, but am out there when the UV index isn't at its highest.
I do suntan occasionally because my back gets a great tan from swimming, but my front doesn't. I'm really careful here not to get burnt also. Again, sunscreen on the face, hat and I check myself pretty regularly for burning so that I don't get burnt.

If you can't get out in the sun, or if you tend to burn, you can always go with the tan out of a bottle. It's not as fun as getting a real tan, and the lines are not as defined, but it's safer. Getting parts of your back without some help can be quite a challenge though, so find someone to rub it on for you. Wait, maybe it can be as much fun to get a lotion tan

I'm fair skinned and tend to burn easy. I'd say though that a little and often is the best way to get a decent tan. Also put on aftersun when you come indoors and after you shower [It works best for me if I pat myself almost dry with a towel, lest I rub off any of my hard earned tan] then rub aloe aftersun on and let it soak in.
The only time I've had a speedo tan line was in winter a few years ago when I did a few sessions on a sunbed. It had been a really dark winter with very little sun light and we'd grumbled at work about how miserable it felt. One girl reckonned that artificial tanning really helped cheer her up, so I tried it and it did. There's no evidence that UV tanning lamps can compensate for sunlight and improve your state of mind though, because they are different wave lengths but it worked for me.
Apparantly bottle tans smell of biscuits, which may be a drawback, although I think smelling of biscuits would be quite cool!

Tan from a bottle is not what I want.
I think that I gonna lie in my garden in my Speedo every dag as soon as the temperature because warm enough. So I hope to get a nice tan. I only have to find some one to cream my back. Does someone know somebody who would like to do that?
I prefer a nice busty bikini babe, but if she is not there a nice guy in a Speedo with a sexy bulge is also welcome.

Yeah ... wear your Speedo at a beach and that shouldn't be a problem. And maybe, he will even apply some lotion when done!!!
Ok. You need to get in the sun. Coppertone Sport is my favorite, especially if it is hot and you sweat. Start with 30 or 45 SPF. Roll over often. Walks are good for the back and shoulders. Don't overdo the sun at first. The lotion is good for the body and the spray is great for the back (especially if you are alone). Aloe is great for aftercare at the end of the day and if you do burn some. Banana Boat Aloe is the best. The cheaper ones are sticky. Start slow at first and repeat often!

I have fair skin as well. I was raised to think I'll only burn in the sun. Not true, I've learned! It just takes more effort to get a tan. I'd echo comments to start slow. Lay out for short times... half hour. But do it often. Every day. Even twice a day. Build a base until you can stay out longer without burning.
I'm anti-chemical so I don't use commercial sunblocks ever. Nasty stuff. But I do use oil... home-made. Pure coconut oil with a little bit of iodine. It's an old-school method, but it works. (Helps heal burns too). Studies show saturated fat has a protective effect against burning and UV-aging. Even when consumed in your diet. (Avoid polyunsaturated fats, which break down with UV exposure.)
For lines... wear the same suit every time. Only way to get crisp lines. Avoid spending too much time in the sun in other clothes! Good luck!

I've been reading about coconut oil and had a bit of a go on my forearms this year. I haven't burnt but I did find it took ages to soak in. Also I wondered if the oil would damage nylon based speedo's, what have you found?

Update time, the only day I burnt this year was when I was wearing full Nivea factor 30. I never burnt with my crazy-lethal coconut oil though. I'd seen a few receipes where you use coconut oil and shea butter. Didn't know where to get it so I ignored it. Then me and the Dude had a go at making our own shaving cream which was coconut oil, shea butter and a bit of sweet almond oil. It won't lather but I've started using it as a moisturiser after swiming and it soaks in quick and my skin feels great.

Norfcountryboy... Sorry, didn't see your other message from May until now! I use the coconut oil pretty sparingly. Doesn't take much to get a uniform coating that soaks in well enough. (For my skin anyway.) I try to avoid getting it on my suits; I had the same question as you, whether it would shorten their life or discolor or something. But honestly, I haven't noticed any problems. A friend gave me some mix with shea butter, but I preferred the pure coconut oil. I found it took longer to evenly distribute the thicker shea butter mix on the skin. But maybe it wasn't an optimal recipe. Need to experiment more. I also haven't extensively researched shea butter to see what the data shows, to know if I trust my health with it as much as with coconut oil!
This year, I only burned once... on the first warm day after winter!
